I am enjoying these videos so much! You're a delight to watch. A piano can be a *huge* purchase so it's a great relief to know I will know exactly what I am getting and what I can do with it. Nothing worse than an expensive instrument that doesn't get utilized to it's full potential!

Hi Chris, thanks for your great videos. Can you make one about recording your own style please ? I bought a 670 and I find it not very intuitive to understand. When I try to record a style, it is difficult to choose for each track a different sound, or practice with a new sound on a track before recording. If I want to listen my style, it doesn't seem to play all track after even if i save them, …. so I find it difficult compare to my old QY70 which are so intuitive and easy !!! I don't understand why Yamaha did not keep the qy70 way for recording. With the 670 there is no red button for recording, not possibility to quickly choose a premade tracks to see if it fits with our new style, ... we always have to navigate with different buttons to choose filters, effects, mixers, ..., a nightmare for me. Please tell me I am wrong and the 670 is also easy to understand. Merci beaucoup **

Very nice video sir... Really appreciate your efforts.. One thing I want to know sir is that Yamaha Dgx 670 styles quality is same as the yamaha Psr sx 900 styles quality ? Please let me know this sir because I want to buy one...

Thank you. The Yamaha SX900 selection of styles includes more of the high-spec styles which are made up of the top-end voices (Super Articulation ones). This is to be expected in a keyboard that is well over £1500. The DGX670 also has a very large selection of styles, but it also has a better piano sample which uses the Virtual Resonance Modelling technology. Plus the DGX670 has a fully weighted keyboard that feels just like a traditional piano to play. SX900 does not. Hope that helps.

Thank you for this demo. The keys seems to “klunk” loudly, when you play them ?

It's likely the lapel microphone is picking up the sound of me playing the keys. I try to edit it out where possible! Bear in mind that I'm wearing headphones while playing too which kills the speakers, so the clunking sound is not really representative of how a DGX-670 sounds in 'real life'. I hope that helps!

Hi Chris, congratulations for the tutorial. I´m breaking my head when I try to attach the DGX 670 to Kontakt to play different VSTs sounds. But when I press the keys, the sound is double,, one from the DGX 670 an the other sound comes from the VST sound. Could you give me an advise referring to the configuration or setup? Thanks in advance for your help!

I'm actually selling my DGX-660 so I can buy this absolute monstrous Tyros 3-esque beast of a keyboard. Also, I THINK.... I don't KNOW.... This could happen in the future. 660 a la Tyros 4 = DGX-680 a la Tyros 5 = DGX-690 a la Genos or PSR SX keyboard = DGX-700, complete with touch screen, and style control with 3 intros, 3 endings, 4 variations + fills, and a break fill. And a modulation wheel next to the pitchbend one, too.

Maybe get the SX-700 or 900 if you can afford it. It is hard to justify the extra 200 dollars for the chord looping button but it is a great keyboard if the player will use the accompaniment and workstation features.

I am strongly attracted to the -670, still on the fence. Enjoyed your thorough demo a lot, looking forward to continuation. Apart from the core features (88-keys, excellent pianos etc.) I am particularly interested in the "Hammond" organ voices - realise that there are no drawbars, but instead a few alternate registrations as individual voices that cannot be tweaked. So, how well do they cover typical Hammond sounds? - Please include in your demo, thanks! - /Peter

@@ePianoscouk Hi again Chris - Your singer on shack play #4 is great - So spot on with phrasing and melody, so much emotion, so confident - love hers and your version of Stevie Nicks Dreams. But you are also illustrating the keyboards abilities of vocal support better than with keyboard only. I would love to hear her and you do some other styles, like Bossa, Blues, Jazz standards. I would also love to see some creative uses of the pedal functionality from you - something that cannot be done easily live, using registrations or the direct button - ?. If you find some 2-voice layers which are particularly effective, please demonstrate! Finally: Thanks for having fun with this amazing new instrument, and thanks for sharing and (dare I say?) infecting your followers with the same.

Thanks so much, Peter. Really appreciate your kind words and suggestions for videos. I've discovered loads of voice layer combinations that I can't wait to share. We'll cover the pedal functionality as you suggest. We've had a few questions about what extra the 3-pedal unit brings, so it needs a video I think! - Take care now. Chris

I’ve owned 2 of the DHX650 (one for home, one for church where I play)... My DGX670 is being delivered Thursday the 27th...can’t wait...awesome keyboard... I also have a Genos... this will enhance the Genos... I miss the 88 keys and weighted/graded keys that the DGX series have. Will be using the USB Host to MIDI to the Genos....
