The Yamaha DX100 Synthesizer from the 80's is dirty, gritty and a pretty cool piece of gear. This synth was used primarily for its bass sounds and was all over techno and house records of the late 80's and early 90's.
In this video use the Jazz Organ (modified) preset and Solid Bass preset to recreate Gypsy by Crystal Waters. The DX100 does a good job at the organ patch which was originally done on a Korg M1 synth.
Here I have a collection of 10 in your face bass sounds from the DX100 in the form of Ableton Live Instrument racks and Kontakt sampler instruments, including the famous Solid Bass and Wood Piano presets.
