Beautiful machine. I've been always impressed by organ players do both manuals and the pedals. Keyboard players don't do leg work, organ players do. It's amazing.
This is still a fantastic organ. One good thing about these 80s organs is that they have hepled keep lofi music alive. These organs were very expensive when they came out.
@hahaableable There were two sorts of Packs for the HS-8 - RAM Packs which were for you to store your own registrations (since superceded by floppy disks and now USB sticks), and AWM Voice Packs which were in a hidden slot on the underside of the organ. Changing these packs for others gave you more sampled sounds - which was truly amazing in 1987 when these were launched!
Hello! Thank you for your comment, that is Toccata in F by Widor - the full version is spectacular. There is a hybrid acoustic/synth version floating around ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-uvIK4VHcvhI.htmlsi=gZ6esze8Xg0vDfvL Thank you once again, wishing you peace and joy through music
The ' O Nara Yamaha HS-8 ' sounds so much less thin-typical-early 90's than this video and it's not just because it's recorded in HQ...it's probably the tempo and the slightly less cliche song choice too. I do sort of kick myself for not buying the one I saw for $120 in my community though, it had midi. I'll probably never be sold on digital, but one thing digital can do well is switch analog pathways. I'd like to know what the ultimate digitally controlled analog organ would sound like in 2012
Do you know any place where I can get some cartridges for this Yamahha HS-8? I too have this amazing keyboard but I feel limited by the cartridges that it came with, I'm scouring the internet and I could not find any, it would be helpful if you have a place or store where I can get one
Hi thanks for getting in touch - keep your eye out on eBay as they can crop up on there from time to time. They’ve long since been discontinued but people do list them for sale occasionally, both the ram packs and the extra AWM rom packs. Good luck !
@jackyvix Yes, I know exactly what you mean about, the HS6 Model. I own one that I don't play too often. ( It is FOR SALE, if you know anyone, that is interested. Do drop me a pm! ) It doesn't sound, very much like a organ at all, has you can't get the mellow tones, that most organs have!
Turn off organ. Wait 30 seconds. Press and hold Red Memory button while turning on organ. Wait for click sound before releasing Red Memory button. Reset achieved.
