Yamaha F310 is one of the most popular guitars in India since a decade. F370 has also been around since a while. However beginners often get confused as to which one is better for them. This is because if you compare the specs there are hardly any difference that you can compare with. So we decided to compare with sound. And the Yamaha F370 clearly wins. Not only in tone but the F370 is a well built solid instrument while the F310 is known to have belly bulge and bridge uprooting issues after few years.

I have played them both. Absolutely amazing guitars for the money. Don't bother with other budget guitars because with Yamaha, the manufacturing process is consistent and you pretty much always know what you are going to get. The tone-woods and tuners are superior on the F370 but if your budget is limited, the F310 is still an amazing guitar for the money. Perhaps another factor that is rarely mentioned is that the F370 and F310 have slightly sorter scale lengths than usual and this makes them incredibly easy to play. There are high-end, far more expensive guitars with shorter scale lengths so this factor should not be seen as a bad thing. The short scale length makes my F370 almost as easy to play as some of my electric guitars and this is something I really love about it. The neck on my F370 is amazingly well-finished. I have a "Fishman Neo D Humbucker" pick-up permanently installed which I play with an Active DI Box when plugged into an amp and it sounds fantastic; better than many high-end electro-acoustics fitted with a piezo pickup. I have been playing for decades. You can't really go wrong with either of these models.

@@londonstudioliving, glad I could help. Another thing worth knowing. I changed my strings a couple of times and I found that the F370 sounds fantastic with a decent set of 0.012 Adagio Pro, Phosphor Bronze, Guitar Strings that I got from Amazon but any good set of 0.012 Gauge will do. No other gauge sounded as good for my general playing and strumming style. These strings sound great raw and unamplified and also sound great with my Fishman Neo D Humbucker sound hole pickup. I have included the product name of the strings I got from Amazon to give you an idea of what I purchased. You'll have a great time with F370; it's a fabulous instrument. Best wishes :) "2 SETS! Don't buy guitar based on the sound of mobile. I tried f310 in the showroom and it's having pleasing sound in real life. Totally contrast with RU-vid videos

they are both similar i tried them both ..in fact my 310 feels way better bcs i have it for while and it started sounding very well. you need to get guitar measurement tool get the perfect action high and use d addarioor or elixir strings and recommended highs are : 6th at 12fr ------>2.5 1th at 12fr ------> 2 generally after the prices of 250dollars you are just paying for the premium version expect the handcrafted guitars they sound way better because of the wood they are made of and these are expensive if you budget allow just go for professional handcrafted instrument the wood is just too good

Bonjour j ai deux . Le fg400a est jolie dans le son .trés équilibré .. mais plus médium aigu que le F370 le f370 a plus de grave et est creussé dans les médiums et remonte dans les aigus .. il est bien pour du struming au médiator . Gros son ... le Fg 400A est plus délicat moins de grave mais sonne plus jolie dans l ensemble surtout joué aux doigts ou picking ....mais les deux sont correct pour mieux que c est deux la .il faut Fg830 .. fg840 la c est table pleine et trés trés beau son mais 450 euro !!j ai bien réecouté la video . Tu vois ce serait a peu prés les même différence de son . La 370 sonne plus grave et la fg400a plus médium. By et bon achat

sir i bought a yamaha fs80c a week ago , i m feeling pain in my fingers i knw its part of learning, when i bought it , i asked the store manager that the action was right for it , he said, all new guitars action comes fixed at standard by yamaha , is it true ? bcz i measured it on 12th fret, the 6th string has 4mm and 1st string has 2mm, pls reply should i get this fixed or keep going

It's true that Yamaha and all other companies set the action before its dispatched. But guitar is an instrument that goes through changes even if it's in the box. Hence it is important to set the action once again before it reaches the user. The measurements is not something we would like to comment on because it depends on method and the scale used to measure. At johnsmusic.in we make sure the initial setup happens so that the guitarist feels less pain and optimum playability.

@@daboiah189 From my point of view, there is a slight difference in sound in the lower tones on the F370, which gives the impression that the sound is more complete overall.

F370 has higher quality tone-woods and a very slightly shorter scale length on the neck. I own an F370. It's an amazing guitar for the money and I also own a couple of high-end Takamines to compare it to. A great guitar, I'd buy another tomorrow if anything happened to the F370 I currently own.

Better tone-wood is used in production. That's what you are paying a little extra for and if you can afford the difference, it's definitely a better instrument.

I had the F310 and because it has a thin neck, barre chords are fairly easy to pull off. Thinking of buying the F370 and I believe the construction is pretty similar, so there should be no difference in ease of execution. Maybe just put extra light strings on it.

Both models are easier to play than most other guitars as they both have a short scale length, which reduces string tension and makes them easier to play. Don't make the mistake of fitting lighter strings thinking it will make it easier to play barre chords - it won't. Lighter strings are thinner and will cut into your fingers more. Stick with 0.12 gauge strings and you'll find barre chords a lot easier overall. Between the F310 and the F370 for playing barre chords, there's not really much in it.

Both are good guitars for guitars. However F370 is a better sounding and better build guitar than F310

I tried them both. Go for the F370, that's what I did in the end. If unsure try them both but I liked the F370 straight away and was in no doubt about what to go for.
