This video just made me puck the trx90 for my kid over the breeze. Thank you. I do my own lowerends but that looks like a pain in the butt.

great video ! do you need de remove the cylinder and cylinder head to access the gearbox, can the crankcase cover be removed without removing the cylinder . Someone said to me that removing the piston from the cylinder means you need to replace piston rings or you gonna have smoke

I find it weird that the main input shaft is only supported by one bearing in the left hand case. Does that make it normal for it to have some play in it?

So on my motor I replaced the reverse gear and clutch shaft and everything works fine until I close the cases together and neutral spins until the slider just barley drops into the reverse gear idk what the cause of this is ? I’m guessing it’s dropping into the reverse gear as well as I can’t see into the transmission. Maybe yours did this to when you went through the gears . Does neutral spin about 80 percent and then kinda bank into the something? I’m guess maybe something I did when I changed the reverse gear or a bent shift fork could be the cause

For the love of God how do you remove the counter weight ( I believe that is what it is on the outside of the casing, it’s smooth with no screws or bolts on the right side of the head) in order to remove the main housing?

Hi. Few questions, what does it cost to have that done? I have the same quad that has Trans issues like that but not the same. I had a stick pop my chain off and it locked up the Trans. I put the chain back on and the Trans makes noises as it rolls motor runs fine just won't go. Might b the same issue as the video. Next question is, is there any special tools needed to get that covet off? Special puller or something? I can handle the work, just curious about any specialty tools that may help. Thanx, this video was very helpful also

Had the same issue - limb threw chain……. Reverse is perfect, forward it pops and grinds…… I took the drive belt cover off praying it was the clutch ….. not so lucky …. I can turn the clutch by hand and consistently feel the drive gear skip / fall out at the same interval (say every 15 clutch rotations) …… means a tooth is missing inside the tranny….. fixing to pull the engine, etc - thx for the videos !

Mine wont go to neutral and its like impossible to move shift handle when i go to drive forward it grinds and is jumpy happened right after chain poped any ideas

If a buy a whole to engine will the transmission be part of it i cant seem to get it shift out of gear since my chain poped and id rather get a whole new engine if its all included

We are desperate for help. We have 1989 breeze 125 and have taken it totally apart as you have in the video because it runs fine but when you put it in gear and press the gas it’s slow to go and finally jumps into gear and the same with reverse. Now that we have it open all gear teeth are perfect. Everything fits and turns perfectly in neutral as long as the case cover is off. As soon as we put the case cover back on it turns but catches…. We have assembled just as the manual and various videos have shown us. We have also replaced a few bearings. Nothing is working and we are at our wits end. Can you help please?

Sounds like you have a bad belt or bad clutch. Late engagement is a clutch issue. Most likely the belt is worn out. That is in the other side of the engine.

@@smallmiraclesgarage622 thank you for your reply. He has the clutch on but the belt off and when he puts all the gears in and puts the middle case cover back on to cover the gears and spins the main shaft sticking out it turns a little and then catches. When the cover is off and he turns the clutch with his hand the gears turn fine.

@@verdabell3642 sounds like something was not put in its proper place. If I could see what it looks like i might be able to help. I'd be shooting in the dark to tell you what is wrong if I can't see it. Are the shift forks put in the right way? Will it shift with the case side off? Does the clutch still turn when it locks? Is the shift position ball bearing in with the spring? Is the shift linkage gear aligned properly?

@@smallmiraclesgarage622 also we are thinking if the fork or rod is bent or worn even a little it might have something to do with it or if the groove in the shift linkage gear is worn maybe that would cause it to slip out of gear and possibly be slow to shift?

not unless you want to do all that work and tear down the complete engine and rebuilt it

you have to take the top end off and split the case. its a big pain in the a$$ and crap design
