I lost both keys to my Yamaha vstar 1300 in a move. I was able to remove the helmet lock which is the same key as the ignition. I noticed the key goes deeper into the ignition than the seat lock. If I got one cut to the helmet lock, would it still work in the ignition?
hey please respond to me! i have a 2015 yamaha zuma recently lost the keys and now i just received the replacement ignition i bought. how do i remove the original ignition? seems like a nightmare
I realize this is an older video but perhaps you received another Zuma Ignition switch since then. Under the cap there is a spring how does this spring position. If you have a complete disassemble of this ignition switch and reassembly id be happy. Recently I bought a 2012 Zuma with a broken key in ignition in the run position. I dissembled the switch and reassembled. I remove the broken key. I had a key made off the broken key and it works the gas cap. Unfortunately, I must have assembled the casing slightly off as the fresh new key made design would not turn the wafers. It did prior to installing the top cap hence my question on the spring. If I figure it out ill post a video of the complete process.
