JetBoatPilot to the rescue once again.... Will is awesome at helping us improve our boats. I've got a 2019 SX195, and thankfully don't have this issue. Or at least yet, but its nice to know that if it does happen there is a solution.

I have noticed on my 2017 ar240 if I only drive around at low speeds with no full throttle driving, I don’t have any water back there. Full pressure on the clean out ports at wide open cause water to come up the tubes quite rapidly. This is what I believe is the biggest contributor to this water problem.

Yup I agree. The riser at least gives it a little more time for the drain to do it’s job.

Thanks for clear illustration instructions. I would like a comperable video on replacing Yamaha twin engine jet boat steering cables.

I know! Everyone’s been asking for one. Unfortunately I changed my steering cables before I started making videos!

Nice, I love those quick value added projects! With my 190, I would make a habit of washing down that area with salt away and sometimes hitting it with Spray-9 to deal with the mold build up. If I had remembered. I'd also leave that area open to dry out...

Yup. That area is always full of water. Anything to help drain it out instead of down! I bet they came up with new ways to do that in the 250.

@@boatingpropless Let me know if you have any time this week for a possible boat meet up and I can show you around the 252SE!

Saw your cobra fins. How do you like them on a twin engine Yamaha? Can you do a review of them? I know Leon has the TV’s as do I, but for some reason I do think the TV’s affect my turning at higher speeds, I took them off to get the feel of running my AR250 without fins. And now I am curious about the Cobra fins.

The only thing is that on the newer boats, they have an articulating keel. Our boats are before the redesign without one. The only main difference between the CF and the TV is that the CF can stay down at all times. Steering does get incredibly hard to turn while they are always down. I actually changed mine to go up at speed.

@@boatingpropless thanks. I think that on my model I am going to try operating again without the TV’s. I do seem to notice a little positive difference without the TV at cruising speed (could be psychosomatic), or maybe I am just comfortable operating a low speed with the dual engines.

Does the 2021 come like this or do I need to stall one?

The 21s don’t have a riser built in. They did revise the tray so that there are channels that direct the water to recessed drain holes. Doesn’t completely solve the problem, but definitely helps get the water out.
