"Cantaloupe Island" by Herbie Hancock, programmed and performed on a lovely - full retro / vintage - YAMAHA MK-100 PortaSound keyboard!
YAMAHA MK-100 is a 1983 keyboard, copying from YAMAHA website: "A portable keyboard equipped with a feature that creates voices by combining waveforms and envelopes like a synthesizer. The PortaSound MK-100 features a mini-keyboard and is equipped with Auto Bass Chord and the Music Programmer feature. The unit stores chords and melodies separately, and is capable of simultaneous playback. It also has a cassette interface for storing voices and performance data digitally on cassette tapes."
Owned this in my childhood, between 1984 and 1989, traded later for a YAMAHA PSS-680. Just bought the keyboard of the video, second hand in a marvellous condition and price as well!

Bravo! The MK-100 is magical in many ways. Its form factor, looks, quirky controls.. perfect blend of analog and digital. Very nice demo and solos Stefanos!

Wow. I am 51 in 2023. I remember my gran mother bought me the ps-300. I was so happy even I if saw that beauty ps-400 in store at the time but my gran mother was not rich at all. And, few time after, I met a school friend who invited me to show me his mk100. I was just blown away. No word. That was a real impressive thing in those years.

Very nice years and keyboards indeed! My first keyboard was an Italian bontempi, then my first "serious" keyboard was a YAMAHA PS-55. MK-100 was my first prortable keyboard! Thank you for your attention!

Very cool! I have one of these, though unfortunately the top key doesn't work and the three bottom keys don't work either, I'll be working on repairing it soon but its not easy to find info on how I can as of now.
