I am a keyboard player and a big fan of Jamiroquai project during many years. I learned a lot by listening to the records and watching the live shows . I have always believed that the “Jamiroquai” keyboard sounds that were heard in the songs, it was the highest skill of the keyboard playing . And now your channel is a gift, because we can see how to get closer THAT mythical sound !
Your synth demos are top notch, it’s a pleasure to hear the full potential of these instruments at the hands of a talented musician. These are, literally (and I don’t use the word lightly), the only synth demos I’ve seen on RU-vid where I thought “damn this riff belongs on a record!” Thank you for sharing ❤️
Woah, this one is epic. I come here to relax. I do love synths but i come here mostly to listen to you playing and i find it one of the most relaxing things ever. Thanks so much for doing these vids!
I would be lost experimenting with this instrument to the point of losing sleep... and my job. Beautiful keyboard with the quality build from Yamaha that's a given. Great demonstration! You're very talented and your love of the music you play is evident.
I love Yamaha, they may not produce classics in the traditional synth sense but there is just something very solid, musical and playable about them. Love it!
The short piece that starts at 4:25 is something else and i cant say enough good things about it, truly incredible patch/sound and arrangement, deep soul affecting music next next next next level
Nice playing, nice compositions, nice presentation, and really incredible job creating your own sounds. Definitely subscribed. I have a Montage 7 White coming on Wednesday...and this was such a great demo to check out. I am super exited; upgrading from a Motif ES! Thanks a lot Matt, love your music. Many moons ago friend had included a couple songs from Emergency on Planet Earth on a mix tape, and I fell in love with the music. I ordered Emergency on Planet Earth from my local record store on cassette. I don't think I had ever been so excited for an album to come, I think it took two weeks. It did not disappoint. So funny; nowadays I just speak music into my phone and it just plays. I think that waiting for that cassette made me appreciate it more. That album was such a wonderful experience for me.Thank you.
I was going through youtube using my internal built in computer speakers. Now I must turn my studio monitors on. Matt, love your playing and presenting style, there's no one around to stand with you!
Awesome 😎 such great playing and the sounds are off the hook, especially love the Jam from 16.42 🎹🎶🙌🏻 I can not wait for the next Jamiroquai project 👍🏻
There was a British pop song in the last year or so which had a reggae vibe to it. I don't know the name.. some lyrics were ' .. I see right through yoou-oouu'. Bouncy bounce bounce. This is similar
Actually this song by Harvey Sutherland is pretty much a fleshed-out version of that little jam! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-z8NuwqT1E_M.html&ab_channel=HarveySutherland The similarity is actually quite uncanny haha
You inspire me big time Matt. I am a bass player who took up the piano nine months ago and have fell in love with the synths. You style is the way I would like to play soon. Thank you for inspiring all of us.
Love the pads section. Very strong body. The flanger effect dosent sound digital, it sounds like a external pedal. 16:51 amazing crack sound. Reverb is so amazing. Thank you doing it.
The Mini Filter is utterly spectacular. Impressive. Specially how driving its input interacts with the resonance. If Yamaha came up with an V.A. engine with this sort of quality, or implement the Mini filter in the filter section of the Montage/MODX... that would be a game changer
Great video Matt. Serious talent. SampleBot is a game changer. I suggested a tool like this to Yamaha. It automates a time consuming process of getting a full sample library into one sound patch. I did this manually before and it’s a nightmare. I think it’s what sound engineers at Yamaha had access to in order to create all the patches. I own the ModX.
I get the feeling you dig the EP sounds on this awesome board. It sounds like they are very responsive to your technique/touch and seems like you're having MUCH fun.
Such a great fusion of all my favorite sounds. Would love a top-down camera angle for future videos. Your fans would love to "borrow" some of these jams.
12:51 I don't know what being done there but I like it, To me it looks like a part can be sustain independently from another. 16:40 That gives me goosebumps and why does my body moves on its own.
I'd say for 12:51 that the patch on the RH side is a 'mono' sound, which means only 1 note can be played at a time. This means that even if the sustain is held down (for the other patch) you can still change notes in the RH without sustaining. It sounds really nice :)
this is starting to get in my youtube chanel top 10, lovely times with you mate. And your playing is in my musical culture, i was about seventeen when jamiroquai poped up, for a big funk fan like me, this was pure candy. So thanks for the work and sharing you passion with us.... if i had your adress i would go fid it to rob you all those great synths you show us all the time lol. but i my hands compred to yours they would be kind of wasted...
I thought I was in Chick Corea's "Sorceress" at 6:06 with those left hand chords. I was anticipating the dropping of a heavy guitar riff from DiMeola. Amazing!
Hi Matt, it's a joy to hear you play the Montage. I am a big fan of Jamiroquai and you :-D. What about sharing some patches on Soundmondo? It would be great!! Thx.
@@felipeopazomusic Hi, here is my video in French subtitle in English about how to sample a synth with sample robot ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0581efRwN_M.html hope it's help
I was praying for a download link for these sounds in the description! Just got a Montage and the EP at 9:46 sounds like a Nord killer to me. Really hope you can release these patches!!
