I recently had a MOXF8...I sent it back; the key bed was awful feeling, noisy and clackey. I used to have an S90XS, and after all this time I've decided to buy another...IMHO, its so much better.
The S90's feel and dynamics is quite different. As the keys are different, they will sound different even both keyboards using the same samplers. Who win? Each one has its own target.
S90XS sounds slightly richer, fuller, more uniform than MOXF to me. Same waveforms and sound engine, but D/A and output audio circuitry may be different.
XS90 still sounds better. You get what you pay for.. The moxf sounds great for the price but the sampler processing is way better on the big flagship xs90.
There's no difference. They are exactly the same samples on both machines and the human ear can't hear any difference from the extra 350mb of waveform on the MOXF6. The samples aren't any longer on the MOXF6 & although a computer will show there's more data in it's sound a person can't hear any difference. If you think you can it's just your imagination. :-)
The samples are all the same... but the new XF samples that are on the MOXF are in general of better quallity then the XS samples that are in both intruments, and which are compared here.. the MOXF has all the latest XF effects, the S90XS only some. The MOXF has a full GB sample ram options, flash memory... and a sequencer and a pattern sequencer... and even more arps.. more knobs, however no sliders.. However, if you want an 88 key keyboard for mostly piano parts, the MOXF is no option in my opinion, because of its low quallity keybed.
it's not imagination. cheaper keys has cheaaper hardwares ( DAC, ADC, preamp, keybed, etc). the only similarity is the samples used(software side). the hardware translates the sound of the samples(software).if you have trained ears you will hear that expensive version has cleaner/clearer sound, wider soundstage, wider dynamic range which make it more "expressive" to the hands of higly skilled pianists/keyboardist. if one's skill is not that great, MOXF will more than suffice, lol! yamaha made it sure you get what you paid for. try to compare MOXF against Motif XF in a controlled environment and you'll hear the difference
I've tried them both, and the S90XS is better than the MOXF. The timbres are the same but the soundness of 90XS sound is full, more complex. While on MOXF it looks more powerless and missing something, this is because the Hardware quality is more tedious and in fact costs less. Do not say that they are the same, but from the video with its quality to a careful ear you notice the difference, and live even more.
+Endy Ekpo the s90 is heavy yeah but the s70 is just 12 pounds more and has a far better action/feel. I am a bit torn between them but I think Im gonna go for the S70.
I have both..I use s70xs for piano and string.. xf8 for synth and pads organ sounds.. Although the keyboards and sound look the same, there is a difference...
WoW!! a workstation vrs. Stage Piano!!! keep in mind people buy workstations for creativity and Stage Pianos for Live Performances...:-) just a thought: Most people don't know what they need lol Piano Workstation or Synthesizer.
Świetne wideo. Tak przy okazji zapytam. Mam takie pytanie poza tematem. Jaki jest tytuł tego utworu? Już połowę nauczyłem się grać, ale fajnie by było wiedzieć, co się gra :) Pozdrawiam.
The 90xs sounds slightly thicker/fuller in the sense of playing the same notes on a guitar, but one is played on low E and the other on the A string. The thicker gauge of the low E makes the note sound fuller. That is how I hear the differences here. At first I thought the weighted keys makes you play with more sensitivity, but now I think there are different components being used internally for processing sounds.
It is not imagination. Yamaha made sure you get what you paid for so the HARDWARES inside the more expensive models are BETTER (DAC ,DAC, processor, preamp, keybed, etc). The only similarity is the samples being used are the same(software side) .if you are to use good monitoring system you will hear the better dynamic response between notes played, clarity/cleanliness of sound,. The hardware (circuitry) gives life to the software (samples).
I do not know if I am correct, but the MOXF has some criticisms regarding the quality of Performances, perhaps its sound processing is of lower quality, since the S90XS has the same quality as the MOTIF XS
There is a difference between the two in my opinion.THE MO XF is the winner although I had to listen to the nuances that MO XF has over the S90 xs but believe me that the s90 keyboard is no joke either. If I had my choice I would still go with the S90xs .Ive played both and the S90 feels so much better .
I hate the S90 reaction time. What a joke. You cannot play fast on it because the keys literally don't respond fast enough, give me a weightless keyboard or real piano action any day... NORD Piano 3 please... Thanks!
S90 tem teclas GH mais silenciosas enquanto MOXF tem GHS Graded Hammer Standard (Standard = básico), teclas mais barulhentas e molengas! Pra quem se importa com as teclas, isso faz muita diferença!
At my point of view i believe the MOXF sounded way better, the only pros on the s90xs is the "balance hammer effect initial touch aftertouch" key action but if we talk about the inside engine defenetly the MOXF is the winner
