Some Waverunners with the MR1/1.1L 4 stroke engine seem to be developing throttle body issues. Sometimes it causes a lope at idle but no codes or issues, but eventually it seems to devolve into throwing codes and going into limp mode.
A new throttle body is upwards of $800, and in some cases won't fix the problem due to wiring corrosion, or other issues. And used ones are all at least 10 years old at this point, and could have the same components failing internally.
I've found a cheap way to get a much newer throttle body that fits perfect and works identical to the original.
Remove it from a TR1 engine machine. These are Yamahas new 1.0L economy engine, and they can be an amazing powerplant, but they do not tolerate water ingestion nearly as well as the older 1.1L engines did, so finding machines that are being parted out due to a catastrophic engine failure is common, and the throttle bodies are often quite affordable, bolt right up to the 1.1L intake, plug right in and work perfectly fine, quite possibly with updated internals.
