R1 and mt09 are pretty even 0-150kph only after r1 will pick up speed faster. It's purely mt09 rider's ability which won this race. Also it's a bit easiler to launch mt09 perfectly instead of r1 due to less power being transfered to the rear.
@@Fearless154 that is so not true man.. its miserable keeping the front wheel down on the mt09 because of the torque and small wheelbase. Not to mention the r1 has launch control. Where do you get that torque somehow makes it easier to launch?
And it has more torque then the r1 so how is “less power” being transfered to the rear wheel? Sounds like excuses from a liter bike owner.. face it, fz09 dominates up to 100 mph.. after that who gives a fck
@@doylee469 Look at the dyno graphs 2015+ r1 produce more torque from 3k rpm than 2017+ mt09 and the peak torque is higher on the r1 which is 77lb-ft than the mt09 60lb-ft. Torque is irrelevant it's about the clutch and gearbox. mt09 gears are way shorter. Also, you can't tell anything from a casual drag race it rarely has anything to do with a bike but all about the rider and how well he knows the clutch on his bike. You can look up anything 1/4miles run of professional testers and drag riders and r1 goes stable 10s-9.8s and mt09 does in 11s-10.6s
Theres no freaking way that performance to beat an R1.... R1 hits more than 220 km/h with just the 2nd gear.... Apparently its owner wasnt actually racing. LOL
The fact that the MT09 can go thru 5 gears before the R1 can get into 3rd is why it wins, it stays in the power band better and has a much more consistent power/torque curve.
@@BrandonPaul24 dude r1 needs no 3rd gear... 2nd gear is enough for more max speed than mt09 and an experienced rider will clutch up to 2nd gear at max 3sec from still stand.... u ppl are totally clueless lol
@@Nomoredie doesn’t matter that the R1s 2nd gear is faster than an MT09 max speed, it can’t hit its max speed within the 1/4 mile distance. The MT09 hits 60mph faster than the R1 and hits 100 around the same time, but because of the faster acceleration prior to triple digits it’s ahead of the R1 so the R1 has to use that higher speed to play catch-up, but it’s too late by then because you’ve run out of track before he can.
@@BrandonPaul24 mt09 hp are almost half of the r1 and it has about 20% less torque. Other than that you can just type in here in youtube "r1 1/4 mile time" and check couple results and then check for "mt09 1/4 mile time" In general 1/4 mile for r1 is 10sec and for the mt09 is 12. All we see here is a more experienced 1/4 mile rider on the mt09.
It still looked like you shifted too quickly. I'm sure it was fine. My MT-10 can go up to about 100 MPH before I have to shift to second, then from there the changes are quick but an R-1 has no chance. Of course longer distance the R1 will eventually catch up.
If you’ve never ridden one, you’re missing out. The MT is brutally quick, nearly impossible to ride around town. The FZ/MT-07 is the better all around bike IMO.
Would you also recommend the 07 for more experienced riders or would you then recommend the 09? I am looking out for buying one but not sure which one I should take
@@ĐayzZ-ed i agree im on the 07 now (35kw) but has same torque as full power just no top end and it does get boring real quick.. unless u love the cp2 sound which i do tbh. Skip the 09 and get the 10. That cp4 is just pure eargasm.
Anyone trying to decide between mt07-09 just get the 09 ive got a 2018 mt09-SP awesome bit of kit, keeps up with all my mates on there litre bikes if not pasding most of them and i find mine fine around town. I wanted a mt10 originally but more usable power on the 09, still lift easily if you want it too 😂
@@omgwtflmaololrotfl2368 you do realize it will take ages for a MT09, or any other 110 HP bike to reach 270 KPH, if possible at all, don't you? but that's not the case for 200 HP litter sport bike to reach at 270. that's a very simple common sense, why argue?
I dont know what the F the R1 rider was dong , but me and my friend we raced today (me 2006 R1 and his 2022 MT09) and I absolutely smoked him from beginning of the race till end...
R1 is faster but 0-150 kph they're pretty even only after 150kph r1 will pick up speed and pass. Learning how to launch your bike perfecly can make even greater difference than just having faster bike.
@@Fearless154 Nah theyre not. You just need to know how to handle the R1 ... with the right cluthpressure youre going forward like a rocket and the mt09 is a joke thats left behind. Even with an R6 i beat these MT09s on Strip.
@@ScrockX1 R1 is very tall geared 0-150kpm it's kinda lazy. Yes, it's much more powerful and will easily outrun mt09 in the rolling race but short drag races mt09 is not a pushover and capable to do 10s in 1/4 mile which is just like any stock superbike. The drag race outcome will be decided by who had a better launch. Just because you're on the r1 you can't offer to be relaxed or mt09 will beat you in 1/4 mile.
