The Yamaha P120 stage piano is one of Yamaha's most popular digital pianos ever. It was released in 2002 but it is still a great keyboard to consider if you find one on the used market at a good price! In this video I will demonstrate all of the sounds.

Im very lucky to have this. I just bought it yesterday and it's well preserved instrument. The sound was so amazing even the touch which has variety like soft medium and hard. I got it for only $200..

@@ldlink3935 Later digital pianos often have the GHS keybed which is inferior to the GH keybed in the P-120 model. GH is much quieter and has more resistance and more control while playing, just like the feel with an acoustic piano. Every year ahead in technology does not mean (by far not!) that you get a better quality digital piano.

P120 is a classic. I had no problem doing gigs with them and they have stood the test of time. I think they have a certain vibe which works well even compared to modern digitals.

I bought my P120 in 2006 and I still love it. I have a Kronos but still often use P120 to record acoustic piano in the studio. Most of the time people can't tell that it's not a real piano sound.

Woody! Great demo of a great instrument. Yamaha really got it right with this one. I bought a P-120 back in 2002 and still have it. Fell in love the first time I played it in the store and had to have it. Picked up second one years later in mint condition. I have used them both on countless gigs in the last 17 years. Making room for a PX-S3000, so I'm selling my first P-120 to a friend tonight. Never parting with the other one! I was feeling nostalgic and came across your awesome video. Long live the P120!

I bought one late last year, apart from the sticky key issues which are common it's a brilliant piano especially when you take advantage of it's onboard effects, also the e- piano is very close to the full tines voice on the DX7ii. It looks a smart model too and still functions well.

Ohh yea :D I really love this piano, got it from some friends of my parents :3 The sound of the piano samples get me everytime :D Still, in my opinion the key action is incredible hard, so playing arpeggios is kinda hard compared to some of the newest models.. Anyways, great presentation :D

congrats on your piano! i found the action to be perfect for me, but I guess it's what you're used to. The Roland FA08 that I've been using recently is much heavier. The P120 still sounds great and will serve you very well. I'm a big fan of the older P80 as well.

@WoodyPianoShack
@WoodyPianoShack 7 лет назад
hi, what background noise do you mean?

Hi, I meant that there was no background sound at all - such as pedalling, the impact of the hand on the keys etc
@WoodyPianoShack
@WoodyPianoShack 7 лет назад
when I edit the audio tracks then i use the mixer to turn down the volume of my microphone when i'm playing! that's the only way to get a clean sound of the instrument. although i usually do leave a little bit of the key clunking, room noise etc to give some atmosphere and authenticity. I think it sounds unnatural with zero background noise. cheers!
