Yamaha PSS-A50 Review & Demo : Access to a Keyboard Whenever Creativity Strikes! 

I've just bought this as a "plug n doodle" keyboard for times when I don't really want to boot up my DAW, interface and midi-controllers etc. I had an old Yamaha PSR-E403 set aside for this purpose previously, but it was just so darn big and weighty that I was NEVER really inclined to set it up.....so I'm looking forward to having a much more portable and accessible "doodle" and "writing" keyboard which I'm far more likely to use. Hopefully, if and when inspiration strikes, THEN is the time to boot up the DAW and give my composition the full treatment using all the resources of my "big boy" studio/hardware etc...but I find writing challenging when I've got the seemingly "millions" of sound options (and tracks) available to me within my DAW, and a more humble instrument often forces you to concentrate on melody and song-craft....instead of immediately reaching for the "bells and whistles" contained within the DAW and VST s in order to try and make a fundamentally bad composition sound good.

I like the fact you posted what you chose on the keyboard to play. That is so helpful.

Got one of those its really a decent piece plus i love the piano with octave levels.

Hope Yamaha will consider to produce new version maybe PSS A60: - with full size keys - add in pitch bend n modulation wheel on the top left empty space (with desciption info if any xtra empty space) - standardise volume level for all tone selection - standard headphone/output jack size - add in pedal jack With these upgrade, sell @ usd150, many will grab it!

I just bought a PSS-A50. Thanks for the demo and inspiration. Showing what you are doing is most helpful. I liked many of the comments below. Now I need to learn how to play. I can do simple stuff but am still a noob. I bought the PSS-A50 for my camper when there is no TV etc.

Hi! I was wondering if the USB power adapter you used is 500mA or more? Because the manual says 500mA but the lowest mA I've found is 1000mA. Would it be okay? Won't my keyboard get fried or something like that?

I have a question. How were you able to record two phrases ? (The first one from the first example) and the the guitar arp on the next example ? I have this keyboard and it doesn’t seem possible. Good video !!

About the PSS-A50, I developped a mod to make the PSS-A50 stereo ! I still wonder why Yamaha decided to restrict the PSS-A50 to mono, while it could be stereo and have a much beautiful audio rendering to make your music much more beautiful. Most probably applicable for both PSS-A50, PSS-E30 and PSS-F30 since the hardware is the same.

Bro can you make me understand this that why extra 4 beats coming in loop when i record phrase?? I am doing on beat without pause but in loop 4 beat extra add without sound

Can this keyboard only record one voice? What I mean is, can I record the drums, the chords and the bassline?

Help! I need to purchase this ASAP. Can you please tell me if we connect this to external speakers via the 3.5 mm Jack, is the output Stereo or mono ?

if i was busking with this in a public place, would it be audible? or would it be too quiet?
