Thanks for that and I am glad to hear it - I hope you had a chance to see the first part of this review, it is more complete and includes mentions of competitors. Right now I am riding a custom chopper, 113 cabin inch SS motor with a 6 speed Baker transmission, all custom on an American Eagle chassis, an absolute monster and joy to ride, but would always be glad to own a Warrior. I am also looking for the Raider but I appreciate your comment and you being an active member of this channel's community - please consider subscribing to be informed when the following reviews of more bikes in the thiscategory come out throughout the following months. I appreciate that you took the time to review your opinion on the brakes! I still think that the brakes are pretty good for a (power)-cruiser bike of 2002: I have ridden a couple of new Harley last year and even the new Sport-Glide was not even close to the Warrior from braking, power, weight and handling point of view. Now yes the R1 is lighter than the Warrior, but the original bike's purpose is boulevard drag & cruising: it has less power and even a lower power/weight ratio than the R1. Also the 1,7L engine helps braking when you do not drive to sporty in the cruves
@pegasusmotorcycletours
@pegasusmotorcycletours 4 года назад
Thank you so much for your input - I truly appreciate it. Great point on the engine braking - that's actually often overlooked and I managed to forget to mention it as well. I too have an electraglide and the braking does not compare. Thanks for your input!
@mikebrown5648

I agree with you 100% cuz I have one of them I've never changed the brake fluid since the day I bought it in 07 until 2020 my break started getting a little weak dog figured it was about time to do something once I've done that that thing would throw you over the handlebars be safe riding
@ramadanslim3500
@ramadanslim3500 2 года назад
Great bike, brakes work fine if you know how to use em. Using both front and back brakes works best as with most motorcycles. With the warrior the back breaks are stronger than I expected they would be. Takes a little getting used to, but no problem coming to a quick stop.
@pegasusmotorcycletours
@pegasusmotorcycletours 2 года назад
I hope you saw part 1 of this review where I delve into the brakes in more detail. I think with the warrior the rear tents to lock up frequently because of the fat rear tire with more traction. Thanks for watching and participating in the conversation. More muscle cruisers reviews are on the way.
@J2I3H
@J2I3H 4 месяца назад
More traction causes it to lock up? Its the other way around. Steel braided lines, and sintered pads will help improve the braking. Also, grooves in the rotors affect the braking power in a bad way..

Great review; nicely done. The linked brakes on the VTX1800 are a strong reason why I steered towards that power cruiser. They perform admirably well for a bike that weighs 700 plus pounds. And when you live in the southwest, I'll take a liquid cooled VTX1800 over an air cooled Warrior during the summer months, when the temps are triple digits every day.
@pegasusmotorcycletours

All good points - I love Honda's linked brakes - it should be standard equipment now a days. And great point re: hot climates and large air cooled V-twins. Thanks for chiming in. Fair review Want more confidence with the brakes fit an R1 front end as the front stock suspension gets over powered under heavy braking and locks the wheel up and stick some Michelin commanders tires on it and you will be much happier in the corners .

I have a goldwing for commuting purposes and don't like riding with a back pack, so considering this bike has no air protection or luggage, it wouldn't be my first choice for what you mentioned. The fat tire combined with the torque makes for more expensive and frequent changes as well.

The Triumph Rocket 3 is a three cylinder not a six cylinder as you stated in the video. Also the Rocket has great brakes, great suspension, and the motor will blow you away embarrassing the Roadstar. 168 lbs of torque is a real torque monster.

Thanks for catching that mistake - I misspoke having today purchased another Honda Gold Wing - so the 6 was in my head. And wow - that is a torque monster. Holy smokes. The $ difference is the one that makes these two bikes definitely not in the same class.

Disagree with u on a couple things first of all the stock brakes have more than enough stopping power. At least with my 09 midnight that came stock with steel braided lines. I stand by that. Also it likes to cruise at 70 not 90. At 90 I'm over 3 grand rpms with stock pulley

Thanks for your comment - I appreciate it very much. Alot of other folks agreed with your critique as well and for that reason I purchased another Warrior and found that the same impression remained (when compared to other bikes in this power cruiser class such as the Nightrod, Rocker, etc) Have you seen my first Warrior Review since this is a response and a sort of a part 2. @BrandonGoldfarb-s8l

Seeing your last video, I did think you were a bit too strong bashing the brakes, you got dual discs in the front; Obviously, being what it is it won't have the braking that a CBR-1000rr does, but for a 650lb muscle cruiser they're fine. As far as if it's a beginner bike, that would depend on what one means by beginner. If someone came to me with absolutely zero experience I would try to get them to get something a bit lighter more than anything. The warrior is great in the sense that it has more then enough power and handling to have fun but not so much power that you're scared of it and cannot have a relaxing ride. For what this bike is, it handles incredibly and is really well balanced. This was my first street bike after having rode dirt bikes and a Drz-400 for a while and the hard part of the transition was getting used to the weight of the machine, not its power per se. These are great bikes, one of the best values in the market right now, beautiful, fun machines with a bulletproof Yamaha engine. Just my 2 cents, nevertheless great video I'm happy I found your channel!

And yet the bike your heart is aching for does exist based upon exactly the same 1700 Cc V-twin: The Yamaha MT-01, you know, the bike you Americans could not have since Yamaha USA decided not to import this bike for you guys... So the MT-01; what kind of bike is that, well At Yamaha in Japan they stripped a 2005 Yamaha R1: all fairings came off and they took out the 4 cylinder R1 engine and they placed a Road Warrior 1700 Cc engine into the R1 Frame....made it all fit very well and so The Yamaha Frankenstein MT-01 was born. Since the bike is based up on a Yamaha R1 Frame with the Yamaha R1 front fork/brakes and the Yamaha R1 rear fork/brakes, this bike rides like a dream, also when the corners are hit, after all this is a Yamaha 1700 Cc V-tiwn R1. So basically the MT-01 (Master of Torque number 1) is no, I repeat, no cruiser, but a naked bike based up on a Naked Yamaha R1 frame/ undercarriage. Go see de video named: This Bike Was NEVER RELEASED In The US | Yamaha MT01 Review

@2:26 I agree, three different times I couldn’t stop at a intersection for a red light because of racing and speed, i was doing the 70/30 braking and down shifting when I can, but the brakes eventually felt like metal on metal and would lock up, after the third time street racing and running red lights at a intersection and being lucky AF for the third time, I figured I had better stop doing that retarded shit because I won’t be lucky the next time and get killed!!
