In this video I'm live showcasing some of the "exclusive" sounds that the Yamaha S-YXG2006LE offers. They're not exactly exclusive to the S-YXG2006 since they're also in the late 00's PSR keyboards with their Sweet!, Live! and Cool! voices, but they're not part of the famous S-YXG50.
The S-YXG2006LE is part of the current Yamaha MidRadio Player 7. It's XGlite, GM2 and GS compatible and additionally has the special more modern voices.
Since the VST version of it is rather hard to find I've wrapped both S-YXG VSTis (50 and 2006LE) in a zip file that you can download here:

For this video I've chosen VST Host instead of the VST MIDI Drive due to lower latencies. The program to choose sounds with is XGworks with a custom Voice List file. See below for downloads.

Thank you for this, I have a Yamaha PSR-295 I bought in 2004 even though I don't use it all that much. I noticed the SYXG2006LE only includes the XG voices and the Live! Sweet! and Cool! voices not the so called panel or user voices but then most of the panel voices are XG duplicates with a few that sound different. Even though one of them doesn't have a gui at least my controller keyboard has buttons to access all the sounds through program and bank changes.

S-YXG2006LE was primarily based on low-end PSR models of the time, such as PSR-350, PSR-290, PSR-295, etc.

Could you upload S-YXG2006LE files seperately? The files of S-YXG50 and S-YXG2006LE are mixed in the zip file...

It would be interesting to know exactly which models of PSR keyboards used the same Wave table as S-YXG50 and which ones used the S-YXG2006LE. I always thought the PSR-630 sounded identical to the S-YXG50.

How did you route XGworks to your S-YXG2006LE VSTi? I've been looking for ages and everywhere how to make it work in my DAW.

There are many options: in my case physical Midi loop (cable from out to in) while SYXG was running in VST Host. I could also install LoopBe virtual midi cables. Or host SYXG in the VST MIDI Driver.

Mr. JayB, all the download links to your site in the description are dead! How do I acquire the custom Voice List file, and then get it into XGworks? EDIT: I managed to get a Yamaha SGP2 (S-YXG2006LE) VST dll, and load it into Cakewalk by Bandlab, where I can easily manually input the Bank and Program numbers from the Voice List that starts on page 100 in the DXG-220/YPG-225 Owner's Manual. Would still appreciate having the GUI list. Thanks for bringing this software to light!

What is the best soft synth we can use to play XG midi files? (either its for Xp or win 10)

The most authentic experience is still the combination of S-YXG50 VSTi and the VSTi MIDI driver. Works like a charm under Windows 10 64-bit.

To make it the default MIDI device in Windows I recommend using a program like this: www.benryves.com/products/vistamidi

@@midifilesanddemosongs1024 I agree with you 100% , i have tried so many "XG-type" soundfonts, and "XG-compatible" software synthesizers. They are BIG, but they are still NOT as good as the S-YXG50 !!

I use syxg50 I already had before. Works well. I couldn't use this one. Do you have any installation manuals? Translated from Brazilian Portuguese by google translator. Sorry for mistakes!

Yes you can, if you have successful install the syxg50.dll with the VST Driver Configurations Utility ( veg.by/en/projects/syxg50/ ) than you can also the load S-YXG2006LE.DLL, like in my case: C:\YamahaSoftSynth\S-YXG2006LE.DLL instead of syxg50.dll, then use in your midplayer the Midi Port / Device -> "VST Synth (Port A) or Port B", enjoy! ;-) and don't forget to copy the other files in your Soft Syntfolder (*.tbl Files of the new S-YXG2006LE-Synth, that you want to use Thanx to Midi Files and Demo Songs, for this beatiful Ad One Feature of Yamahs Softsynth ;)

Los enlaces funcionan. El software también, quizás el XG2006LE no te enseñe dispaly, pero suena igual, tan sólo hay que enviarle los cambios de programa y controladores pertinentes para editar. Para ello, necesitarás a parte XGWorks y rutear los mensajes MIDI al plugin VST. En Studio One V2 y V5 funciona perfectamente (con jbridge para V5) pero es un VST de 32bit.

how do you set this lovely synth as your default MIDI device? VST Host? 'Cos I used Vista MIDI and so on but only the typical and very poor MS Wavetable GS appears

It's not fake I got it to work in XGEdit on Windows 10 using loopMIDI and change sound, even the reverb, chorus and resononce and cutoff worked from within XGedit95... I used to own the real DB50XG and the SW1000XG and really does work except the MU100 sounds don't work for me
