Great Snare Drums.Resembles Ludwig Supraphonic

Forget Low & med tunings, I thought it all sounded too loose from straight out the box. These are great drums. Try tensioning the bottom head to medium then tension up the wires a bit tighter than you demonstrated here. Now whack on a Remo emporer and crank it up. Thats how my yam is and its incredible . Sounds as good as Ludwig supraphonic. Im not picking on this drum or demo, Its just I have 1 of these and I think you didn't show how good they really are. I can't demo mine unfortunatly as I don't have the equipment to record and do it justice. Yamaha are on a winner with this 1. Great sound & affordable. BTW I have a Ludwig Black magic same size and it sounds as good as that. I wont part with either of them.

Just bought one of these to replace my ludwig back beat kit poplar snare. This makes the rest of the cheap kit so much more viable for longer term use. Just one moon gel effectively kills that ring if you don't want it. The stock head sounds pretty good. I put a Remo power stroke 77 clear dot on and it is mui Bueno.

I just bought this drum today... I cake play, but I always wanted real drums, and now I have them. I like this drum because I wanted a lower sound to my snare, I have a 22" kick, 18 and 16 floor tom, 13 and 12 rack toms, and I tossed in three roto toms. so the 5.5 steel factory snare just didn't sound low enough ... with this snare ... I finally got my low end punch.

Comparison with SD2465 would be great.

In the low tuning in the very begining, the tune falls down notoriously. Notice it. From then on, the tune keeps stable for the rest of the video. By the way, I have got this sd. It sounds fantastic, but it needs nylon washers to keep the tune. The same as more expensive sds, doubtless

I have this snare too, use tight screw tension rods (on 3 of the lugs) hasn’t gone out of tune in about 6months gigged most weekends once or twice 👍 Get way more compliments on this snare than some of my other more expensive ones too

Do you mean the pitch of the tone that drops after a played note? Is that not a tuning issue? Or does this drum just doesn't like low tuning? Thanks
