I was about to order the Tenere back in April when the Norden Expedition came out. I live at 4,000' el on the US/CA border. Summers are very short, so any bike I got would need heated grips and seat to extend my riding season as much as possible. I also ride solo most of the time, so I wanted a center stand and grab handles. I also wanted cruise control and a decent TFD display with good ride configuration ability in the electronics. When I added all those to the Tenere I was only $1,000 (US) short of the Expedition and would have to do all the work myself to upgrade the Tenere. And that still didn't take into account the WP Explor suspension which is standard on the Expedition and one of the best in the Adv field. I've had my Expedition a month now, and have no regrets and love the bike.

That is great to hear. Taking into account all of this it is no brainier. I always wanted Norden since it come out, but expedition got me to make the move. Ride safe 👍

Wise choice! I’ve got 5200 miles on mine and feel the same way! Enjoy! 🏍️💨

Good comparison! I was going with 701 or t700 but then my dealer mentioned the Expedition that he’d just seen at the KTM show last fall. I put a deposit down immediately and picked mine up on 3/30 and now have 4000 miles and couldn’t feel more blessed to have it. 🏍️💨

How has it been? What kind of riding are you doing with it?

@@IdahoDualSport208 it’s been the definition of a blast thanks for asking. 5200 or so miles now and just got some new tires. Local rides here in the blue ridge mountains of NC, any dirt roads and more off road riding around the woods has me getting more comfortable with the move up from my dual sport and enduro bikes. Can’t wait to tackle a BDR sooner than later as well. Even if it’s just sections at a time.

@@lukefish7562great to hear. The expedition seems like a great package. I was also leaning towards the T7 for a long time, and coming from dual sports and enduro bikes. However, I’d like the adv bike to still be an adv bike, and not a dual sport that can adventure (the T7). I’ve seen very little negative feedback on the Expedition so far.

Have you had any reliability issues? I keep reading about the rear shock failing and the coolant hoses coming loose.
@Wollestar
@Wollestar Год назад
@@alwayssunnyinbayside The rear shock was on the original Norden, not the Expedition. They have different suspensions. Water hose still seems to be there. But! That seems to be a topic of how well the dealer sets up the bike after receiving it and (imho) it is also the job of a motorcycle owner to check all bolts and connections on a bike regularly, especially if you take it off road.

if i had known the Expedition model with the far far better "R" spec suspension was incoming i would have waited another year for it but after "fixing" the shieet stock suspension on the 2022standard model the bike is AWESOME

If you stay in the western world, with a dealer close, the Husqvarna is the better choice. If you go on adventure to Africa, Australian Outback, South America, Middle East, Asia, better take the Tenere, and add the after market cruise control and baseplate. Yamaha parts are widely available everywhere in the world. While Husqvarna motorcycle parts are a real challenge to find in Iran, Mongolia or Paraguay, to name a few.

I've been riding the BMW F750 and want a change. I can't decide which to get. The Tenere or the Husky 901, non-expedition model. I love the Norden 's looks and all its functions. But I'm into simplicity, which the Yamaha Tenere 700 slips into perfectly; just ride and no fuss. I ask myself, " Will I miss the modes, cruise control, traction control, etc"? When I go gut level, I say yes, I will miss them, especially cruise control. The good news, however, is that I hear the 2025 Tenere will get cruise control, a must for me with all the freeway driving I do here in Los Angeles. So I can see me waiting for the 2025 model of the Yamaha Tenere 700 and see where it goes. Perhaps, as they do in the EU, they will have an Exploration model with lower suspension, lower seat, higher windshield, and more. I'd go for that bike as I do mostly road and 30-40% off-road. The Norden will only get better each year I feel. That bike's not going anywhere. So things are looking great for next year!

@bjlo8220 I got my Tenere when Norden wasn’t around yet. Owner of both bikes I would say you need to test ride both for sure. On roads Norden is better with its punchy engine and equipment like heated grips and cruise controls etc. Also off road is better with its tech that you don’t feel but it works- saved me and the bike few times from coming off. Weight is very similar… I am staying with my Norden and don’t miss the basic-ness of Tenere actually opposite I appreciate the spec and tech on it. Got the Expedition as on lower level you have to pay extra to unlock features which I think is ridiculous. Good luck with your purchase!

@@Motorcycleholic Thank you for your great feedback. I must admit, I love the Norden! The bike is so clean. I really want that bike but I'm thinking it's so big. Is it just me, or do I need to ride it? I think that's it. I'll ride it and then I'll know. Thank you.

Which mirors did you install on the Norden and did you had to insatll an adapter for the left miror?
@Motorcycleholic
@Motorcycleholic Год назад
@oross99 I installed standard KTM / Husqvarna folding mirrors and right mirror is with an adapter left without- I reused the adapter that was with an old mirror (mirror sits a bit higher). I hope this helps. Best
