Ive had one for 9 years, rode 35000 km with it. Mine could do 270 with a passanger. I sold it when my baby was born. One of my worst decisions. I mean selling the bike, not having the baby
I had 2 FZR-1000s, then the Ace, for 2 seasons. Great bike, would lift the front wheel in 4th gear, really powerfull. Then I went to the 98 R1, which was such a blast, I kept it, for over 20 years. Now I'm on a 2005 R1, which in many respects, and overall feel, and configuration, reminds me of the YZF-1000 Ace.
i got the weight down by nearly 20kg by swapping the battery for a new light li version and replaced as many steel parts for aluminium,alloy and composite parts and it’s a very different animal now

I just got one of these a fee days ago, but i rode a cruiser for 3 years (Virago 535) and I'm not used to the sportbike position and struggling with my neck always looking up just to see the road, and it gets painful at low speed riding. Is this something one gets used to with time and then it becomes more comfortable?
Great bike. Did 40,000 miles on one. Best 1/4 mile 10.80 seconds at 205 kph. That time and speed was just out of third into fourth. Red line the motor in fourth off the end of the 1/4 would just get the bike to 240 before jumping on the brakes to avoid the sand trap.

Is it an complete open .Model with 148 PS or only 98 PS Because my 148 PS is built into a naked bike and does 260 kmh GPS Speed im not Kidding I dont understand the racing fairing Version in This Video only makes 240 kmh ...most of Them make 290 with fairings
They're a smooth slick sweet bike.. on par with gsxr750, I have both & a k5 1000 & k7 1000 that feel like concrete mixers in comparison.. but the gsxr's are missiles compared..
Why is it only showing 240 on the speedo, have you changed the rear sprocket, mine will easily clock 280+, I've had that with a pillion on the back, it really helped to get it tuned in with a dyno kit stage 2 though, much more noticeable torque through mid range and lower down 👍🏻
You can get a magnet phone case on the tank but it has to be a good one or bye bye phone. I had a bracket on my bandit round handlebars . I need something on this myself i not long had the bike im riding sometimes with it balancing on the tank following google maps sat nav🤣 going slow as hell so my phone dont fall of 😂

Doesn't need it the gear ratios are perfect, maybe you just need to change the rear sprocket?? The 5th on the ace is still about the same as 6th on a same year R1
who is the ass who has unleashed your bike? A Thunderace pushes much more than that, my friend. If we lived next door, I'll make you try mine and you see what it is a push Ace but maybe your bike is not unbridled.
