Thanks for the review. As someone who has taken a 2016 Triumph Tiger 800 XRT on numerous 800-mi+ trips, I have to disagree with Adam’s comment that the GT+ wouldn’t be good for similar distances.

I snagged a killer deal on a 22’ 9 GT. Zero regrets. Crazy smooth ride quality and engine. Fun. Predictable. The seat sucks but that’s my only complaint. The GT+ looks very nice, but I’m more than happy getting a brand new outgoing model for a deal. GT+ does look like a ton of improvements, wish the rear spring would auto adjust for passenger/luggage weight instead of just a dial.

The older 900 GT split screen didnt have a Plus. That new screen only comes with the Plus. And for me, the bike in the UK is not worth almost an extra £2k for the suspension and active cruise control - which is great on motorways (freeway) but unuseable in the twisties! Both bike ride well and that engine is awesome

Of all the new changes the only one that appeals to me at all is the braking update if I understand it rightly if you have an emergency panic stop it will give you both brakes as hard as the abs can allow?? THAT could be a life saver I would think? Other than that it seems Strange Yamaha has had so much trouble selling the Tracer9gt in the US ( they are still selling left over new 2022s at a discount!) Yamaha did not even offer 2023 Tracer 9gt in the states at all! but now they are going to even ask MORE money than 15k 22 msrp for the 2024 plus? Do they really think people want the radar cruise THAT badly? Or that the one piece insturment display looks THAT much better that those will push someone that rejected the 21 22 T9gt to finally buy the plus? I mean I love my own T9gt but I would not have paid much more if any for the changes of the plus ....then again I dont commute and the twin clocks never bother me in the least...stupid thing about seeing a face? LOL I never even think of that unless someone asks or points it out ...DUMB reason to dislike a dash! I like the Tracer dash way more than my 23 MT10 single dash simply because I dont have to scroll to find what I want on the tracer as it is always right there! The Tracer is just a wonderful motorcycle! The only reason I added the MT-10 is just because it was a bucket list type thing to at least own one really fast powerful motorcycle that also handles great in the twisties! Whith the MT-10 fully qualifies at! But any trip of more than 100 miles? I will take the Tracer! So many features I love! Things the MT-10 lacks! The luggage, the fuel range, the heated grips, the center stand etc

I'd like to make a correction regarding the gear shifting. While you do have to get off the throttle for down shifts on the 2021 new generation Yama Mt-09 and all models with that engine, you can perform upshifts with a steady or accelerating throttle position. If you had to release the throttle even for upshifts it'd defeat the purpose of having a quick shifter at all. I've been riding the 21 MT09 for the second year now. Fantastic ride. By the way, I've had the 2017 MT09 and I installed an aftermarket quick shifter on that, even with that you could do upshifts while accelerating. I had to use clutch for downshifts though.
@colinsaunders8723
@colinsaunders8723 10 месяцев назад
The T9+ has the Gen 3 quick shifter. You can change gear up or down the box with the throttle open or shut.
@kutykutyka
@kutykutyka 10 месяцев назад
@@colinsaunders8723 Yes, exactly. at 12:25 Adam said that before, so on the 3rd gen 2021 Yamaha "you couldn't upshift or downshift while on the throttle" that's why I said that even on the 2017 Mt-09 with the aftermarket quick shifter you could already upshift while on the throttle. Same on the factory 2021 and on models QS-ers. On the 2017 model I needed clutch for downshift, and on the 2021 I need to keep the throttle closed while downshifting, so it's a nice improvement now on the T9+ to do whatever you want. No big deal on the other ones either, you get used to any method quickly.

Had been considering this bike but at 6'3 with long legs it is a bit cramped. Nice locale for demo ride but I thought you'd head over the pass to Idaho City (completing Loman Loop) and run thru the very twisty parts.

It's got my attention, as I go back and forth between Adventure and Sport Touring, and I'm next due for Sport Touring. I would like to see a T9 version though! Adam - the dash brightness looked a little dim in the video. How was it during your ride? It was evident that it was a bright sunny day. Also, would you say the bike's acceleration is satisfying? When you were on it, it didn't necessarily seem that way. Does the FJ1300 pull harder? Your take on it being more of a local versus long distance tourer was interesting.

@@lowriderrjw My XS Eleven pulled mu XS 750 Triple very convincingly. I wish I would have kept both of those bikes. There was something soulful about that triple, and the 11 ran like a sewing machine, smooth, quiet, and at 85-100 mph, all day across the desert without one hiccup. She never burned an ounce of Golden Spectro Syn4. I even had 12in apehangers on both bikes for touring comfort.

Can someone help me understand the short distance touring comment he made twice? I don't understand. I will be in the market for a new bike soon, having toured quite a lot of the country on my slow, super vibrating 06 Gen 1 KLR 650, and this machine looks 1000 times better for it, but it's "good for groceries"? What is the reason you couldn't do a few 2,000 mile runs on this thing each year? It has long maintenance intervals and a decent fuel range, no? What size machine is he referring to? Just a GS1250 or something?

I think Yamaha needs to follow suit of triumph and offer the tracer as a GT and Tenere trims. One road focused and one ADV focused. The ST is old and getting passed up. The tracer is a great bike but the 17" wheel limits it.
@Jeff_Klein
@Jeff_Klein 10 месяцев назад
That would kill the Tracer, as an adventure bike needs very different setups. I own a Tracer and I’ve ridden the Tiger 900, and that think is not as nearly as fun as the Tracer.

@@ChavsADV the sitting position on the Tiger is not sporty at all. The gears are too short and the suspension is too soft. It’s not close to the sporty feel of the Tracer. But I agree with the fact that a Tenere 900 would awesome.

I was not as impressed with adaptive cruise control on 23 BMW 1250RT as I thought . Is it cool, yes, can you relinquish control, no and in some instances you have to maneuver thru traffic with it engaged or not to not be stuck behind the slowest vehicle. More work in some cases. Can live with or without.

@weed46
@weed46 10 месяцев назад
@@predragkardashian3730 That has nothing to do with the price. Actually more expensive bikes normally tend to have shorter service intervals due to having higher performance engines. I was just putting into context because 20-25k mile valve adjustments are pretty common across the board with other brands, it's not like Yamaha is above average like it sounds in the video. Even the much more Ducati's complex desmodromic valves in the V2 engines have like 20k valve check intervals.

I would absolutely never use adaptive cruise control. Any time I am around traffic I want total control of my bike. As far as the dash goes I think it is a lot of fluff.
