No it is not. Both areas it attaches to and rests on are the main frame. The seats post mounts, and rear frame Bridge.

@@rcbif101 Both known weak spots. That is why the better racks transfer that weight down to the passenger pegs, but you do you.

@@hazcat640 Most of the racks that have a mount at foot pegs have their secondary mount at the frame Bridge same as mine (others use the weaker subframe). Going further down to the foot peg mount only makes it flex more and has led to legs getting pinned when the bike goes down. I have seen a few cracked frame bridges, but no seat mounts. The vast majority of the load will always be on the rear most mount anyways though. It will do just fine with the 20-40 lbs it will see. I thought this through- I'm a mechanical engineer ;)

@@rcbif101 Yeah, my son built my front mounted rack. He's an engineer as well.
