People say they don’t like how Yamaha has not changed the looks of the Viking, but I actually love it, I wish more companies would do the same thing. If it ain’t broke, and it has no problems, don’t fix it. This Viking looks identical to my 2013 Viking 700, except mines red. I want to upgrade cause mine has had a lot of hours and is getting tired, but I’m happy knowing if I do the new one will be exactly the same.

Well, I like the looks of the Viking, but I wish Yamaha would upgrade to the 850cc. Possibly offer a hunting model that is almost a mud model. They don't do something soon. I'm going with either a CanAm Defender Hd9 or a Cfmoto Uforce 1000cc.
@timberstoneranch

I like the can am too. I wish Yamaha would do a 1000 cc fully enclosed unit with heat and ac. I would buy that and have it forever. Also don’t recommend a cf moto, lots of people buy them for their price and features but never keep them. I always see them for sale pretty new and super cheap.

Hi, im in newoundland we get a fair bit of heavy wet snow i have a 2019 viking with the plow. It works much better with about 500lbs of weight in the bed. I plow about 1600ft gravel lane to get to the stree. I have pushed through 30cm+ deep with ease. My first run is down hill and i usually back up and widen it the second run. The warn plow mount is junk i hsve brokdn one and bent another, the blade is also bent along the cutting edge. I think this warn plow is for light duty on asphalt. Fyi there are wires under the bed that i used and with purchase of aditional pig tail and relay to connect led cube lights that turn on whrn the shiftrr goes into reverse. I also have the glass windsheild with wiper, and windsheild wash and a (superatv) rear plastic window.i slso installed led light bar.

I could see how the weight I’m the back could make a difference for sure. Also looks like you got a much better set up then ours when it comes to windshield and overall driver protection. Thanks again and we hope you enjoyed the video.

I have a 2018 Viking in red and i think it needs a Turf mode switch and a Park setting in the transmission. Also needs the one handed tailgate latch instead of the 2 outside handle locks.

Did you sell your Gator RSX850 for this? What do you like better about each? I have a Gator RSX860 and I’m thinking about selling it and getting this one. I love the Gator but it’s too loud and I would like more passenger space for the family. I was interested in your thoughts between the two machines. Are still glad that you got it? Thanks very much.
@timberstoneranch
@timberstoneranch 4 месяца назад
Hello, yes we have sold the gator RSX as it was more of a racing performance vehicle rather than dual purpose and utility. I agree that the gator is too loud and not safe for kids. We do love the Yamaha for its space and it’s performance. The price of the Yamaha too is much more attractive for what you get. The Yamaha was almost $7,000 cheaper as we have it configured. I would recommend you go look at one in detail and perhaps try one out. We still have other gators on the property but they are the 550 cross over model which is again more of a utility vehicle, as we do love our John Deere over here. I hope this helps and good luck.

Great review, I will be purchasing a new utv very shortly. Thd two units I'm am looking at is the yamaha viking 700 and the kawasaki mule pro fx 800. How is the power and noise level in the cab. Also , does it get really hot in cab ? Thanks
@timberstoneranch
@timberstoneranch Год назад
Those are both very nice units with great room. We did go look at the Kawasaki mule as well. The only reason we went with the Yamaha is because the Kawasaki had rust on it at the dealership and the coating did not appear as durable, but this may have just been mishandled. The power is great, more than enough, we don’t notice a difference between the Yamaha 700 and our John Deere Gator. Noise is also not as bad as the gator. Heat we have no issues as we have an open station, we have more issues with the cold rather than heat. I hope this is helpful in making your decision. Enjoy!

I ended purchasing a yamaha 700 se model. You were correct about the Kawasaki mule. I looked at some mules at a dealership and there was rust in the box and under the doors. Kawasaki needs to fix this problem

@stevenbouchie521

Hi how's it going what light bar and mounts did you buy I would love to buy the same thing
@timberstoneranch
@timberstoneranch 3 месяца назад
Hello, everything is well. I hope you are doing well. The light bar we put on is a 52 inch curved light bar. I checked my Amazon account but it says product no longer available. However it did recommend a bunch of other similar ones. We got a curved on to fit for the machine better. We also used the brackets that it came with but instead of drilling into the frame we used large metal hose clamps from Home Depot for like 2 bucks each, they are solid. As far as the light bar, we paid about $100 bucks Canadian at the time just to give you an idea. I hope this helps. Enjoy!

How do you find the power of the 686 engine. I used to own A grizzly with that engine which was great. Id like to know how it compares in the sxs.
@timberstoneranch
@timberstoneranch Год назад
I find the motor is great for what it is. I can do everything I want with it. Would I prefer a 1000 yes but honestly this is plenty of power for the 3 seater. I think the 6 seater version might be a little under powered for the weight.
@OceanBreeze2022.
@OceanBreeze2022. Год назад
@@timberstoneranch totally agree, I guess riding with two people is just fine. I previously owned the Wolverine X2 850. Plenty of low end torque. The machine had bucket seats with very little storage space. If I ever get another it’ll have A bench seat with little more storage option. I think for reliability you can’t go wrong with the 686.
