Jeff, that setting you like on the instrument panel is the same one I prefer and leave -on all the time. Engine temp is #1, I pretty much know what gear I am in but do look down once in a while to make sure my guess is right?! Does it really matter? NO. I enjoy your vids and appreciate what you do to help inform others! Keep riding safe.
My biggest gripe is having to look down to check the gear indicator. I really feel that it should be up in the tach/speedo area. At 25ish mpg,at least the fuel warning flasher is readily visible!
I am riding Vmax since 95, started obviously with the Gen1, now riding mainly Gen2 though the Gen1 is still in operation. I know roughly when to refuel from the tripcounter. For the Gen2 it is 100mls roughly when fuel warn light pops up, from there it is at least 20 more miles to run. It is 1 fuel stop per day, on longer tours sometimes 2. You get a feeling about that by the time. For me not a problem but I live in a "civilised" region in Europe with many fuel stations. I can imagine that it could become tricky in the Australian Outback though.
@@JenniferSmith-yl6lr I tell people that it costs me $10 every time I go for a ride. And I like seeing the reaction when I tell someone my bike has bigger engine than my car.
keith mcmillen same here on the $10 fill ups. Just got my second service performed on my 2020 VMax at 2,200 miles also at my preferred dealership in this part of Ar. . Nearly 65 miles one way and I spent over $10. on decent fuel with a min. octane of 91. I usually go for non ethanol whenever available . Chilly ride this morning around 35 . Take care
Same here, that in fact is the defaut screen. I don't get it, why the author of the video keeps calling the other display, the default display even as he states, he has to select it by going into the menu and selecting the 'system status' - that is not the default screen, that is the system status screen... ;-)
There is another menu you can access by holding down the 2 buttons then turn on the ignition key keeping them both pressed for a few seconds it will go into diagnostic mode so you can check for fault codes change co settings and other options
Thanks for sharing: that's good for everyone to know. Coincidently, I happened across that information a couple weeks ago in the service manual, but it was long after I recorded this. Thanks for watching.
I’ve never needed a bike to tell me what gear I’m in sometimes I don’t even know am I in 4th or 5th... If I feel like I need to go down I shift down and if I need to go up I shift up
Triumph wasn't really option for me because there are no dealers nearby and future servicing would have been too much of a hassle. Now that the VMAX has been discontinued, I'm glad I chose it. Thanks for watching.
Hi. Just wondering if you ever had an issue with the digital speedometer staying blank and also no back light working around the tachometer. I have one of these in my work shop from a customer who bought a brand new speedo/tacho and still same result so im thinking must be in the wiring harness possibly a broke wire. Just thought ide ask in case you ever had the same issue over the years.
