Today, my sister's W650 wouldn't start with the electric starter, so I went to check on it. The engine started after I kicked it three times. My sister couldn't get it to start no matter how many times she kicked. We recorded each other's kicking technique on video, and I sent it to my sister for review. I watched the video too, and my sister's kicking style was exactly like this video I saw five years ago (laughs). I really think this family is wonderful. JP
First bike that I ever rode was a BSA Lightning, 650 cc. My friend came over, shut it off and jumbled up the gear-box and said, "if you can get it into neutral, and start it, you can take it for a ride." I got it together and, with a big smile, set off and rode around the town for twenty minutes or so. I was hooked.
XS-2 might be better for small woman because it have electric starter too. Very nice bikes all those three in video, thank you for uploading and don't break your leg! Older man was probably the owner of bike, he know how to do kick start right! 😀
The early motors are higher-compression , plus she didn't have the lever positioned just forward of her heal, in the arch of her foot, that combined with lack of technique , stopped her driving her leg 'through'. You can badly injure-yourself that way . She wasn't going to give up though , sign of a True bike-lover ! Dave NZ
