Hi ya'll!! I thought I would bring you along as I install this awesome LED headlight kit from Brogue. This is a complete plug-and-play kit including mounting hardware. This vid is a bit long, and pretty raw, but I wanted to show the process of an actual DIY project including several "Ah-Ha" moments. Let me know what you think! Had to have this headlight the first time I saw it. I like the fact that it’s so clean and it looks completely different from any other LED unit. Bought it even before i got the bike which I’ll be picking up Saturday! Your bike looks great btw.

@@JJackMoto it looks like Brogue no longer sells that headlight. Isn't it made by another company?

@@Backwoods_Thumper It is! Koso makes this light. Brogue made the custom brackets to replace to factory set, so you may need to find a way to get those. I think Brogue might sell the brackets separately. Give Mike a shout over there, he's very responsive.

Beautiful looking custom job you've done on your 700. I now own a 2017 XSR900 and the previous owner had 'tweaked' it to look more hooligan (in my opinion), including a Delkevik racing exhaust system ( oh, so very loud, but sounds gorgeous when you come off the throttle or change down, but alas, needs a dB killer ). Anyway, I would love an LED headlight but have had trouble, here in the UK, finding one that suits. The one you have does indeed look the business. Grats, buddy. Looking good.

@Simian Rogue Thanks for watching, and thanks for the compliment! Such a fun bike to customize, that's for sure. Yeah, there are still limited lighting options here as well, and those options are quite pricey. I'm really happy with this Brogue piece though.

Good looking mod! Personally I would have put the brackets upside down, so the light sits a little lower (just visual taste). Also I'd like to see the light pattern that it throws out.

Thank you Tim! Ya know, I actually tried it with the brackets upside down, but the light sit a bit too low. The small piece there at the bottom of the factory mount got in the way. It would look good just a few mils lower tho. Thanks for watching!

The more I watch your videos the more I pour into my motorcycle savings account for these mods every month. I really dont like the look of the stock headlight on my XSR, but the windscreen i installed makes it look much better

I like the lamp but not sure about the brackets. It looks to me like the light should be a little lower and closer.

I actually agree. Brogue reached out to me after this vid to talk about building a bracket that lowered the light a bit. You may check out their website to see if it is available. If not, give them a shout, tell them you watched this vid. They may build it for you one-off.

Thank you! I actually tried the brackets upside down to see how low the light could sit. The bottom of the light ended up being a bit too low, hit a small piece that held the factory light.

nice DIY instructions! one question though...looked on brogue website and couldn't find this LED headlight..is it discontinued thru them? I see the Koso model but obvi it won't come with the plug-n-play headlight wiring or the triangle side mounts and two black bolt spacers.

I plan to buy this same headlight but I just wanted to know how you made to hide and protect the cables and wires that were initially packed in the stock headlight case ? On this Koso Headlights. When the high beams are turned on the low beams go off than. Both don’t go on with the high beam is activated.

the headlight is upside down, highbeam is on the upper portion of the headlight.

Hey JJack, question about your front turn signals. I noticed that New Rage Cycles makes some very similar and look like they'd match your rear eliminator kit. Did you consider those at all? If so is there a reason you chose against them? I'm in the market for some and not sure which direction to go. Thanks!

Great video JJackMoto, inspired to install the same headlight on my XSR700. One question I have, your light that came from Brogue looked like it only had the 3 pin connector. The one I ordered and received had that 3 pin connector and then separate to that has 2 additional wires. One ground and one for the centre position light. Did yours come differently? Brogue may have wired the position light before shipping it to you. What I'm going to do is use some posi tap connectors to tap into the low beam light. Just curious to know about yours.

Thanks for watching! Yes, I believe Brogue built the wiring specifically for the XSR, so it was simply plug-n-play.

@@JJackMoto Yeah cool thanks! From your video I guess they just connected the centre position wire to your yellow wire ( low beam). Which is what I'll do when I get some Posi Taps. Cheers

Really appreciate this. Like I said before. I have the exact same bike. I've done all the same mods. Except for exhaust. Going to do Toce. I'm ordering this light next. Never cared for the look of the factory one. Donyou know if the xsr900 seat, fill the 700? If so, I might get a Corbin seat. I find this one quite short. Especially after the fender eliminator.

You are very welcome! I honestly do not know if the 900 seat will fit. It may physically fit, but I would bet that the latch setup is quite different. I actually really like the look of the seat with this kit installed. Gives it a nice clean look without looking too kitchy. Hope that makes sense.

I bought a LED Headlight for my Yamaha and I‘m Not so happy with the position of the light. In your Video on RU-vid I saw that your headlight is positioned further up. Kind Regards

Jack, I love your bike and your style. I'm saving money for all your accessories, but in the meantime I'm struggling to find this specific headlight. Since the brand that you chose is sold out I have looked in tons of different sites trying to find something similar, but nothing. Could you maybe give some help here? I would really appreciate it!

Emanuel Cecchin Hello Emanuel! I know that Dennis Kirk has a couple lights in stock, but you’ll still need to find brackets to accommodate that light on the XSR700. I would highly advise contacting Brogue directly to see if they will have more in stock. Make sure you mention you watched this vid. Sits way to high for me...good reference point,is the bottom of the lamp should be just above the top of the bottom fork clamp...personally, I'd junk the heavy Yamaha h'lamp mount, and get the lamp down and pushed back!

@@stevenharrhy74 Hi Steve! What headlight are you using? You will need to make sure that the new headlight plugs directly into the Yamaha 3-wire setup. There really shouldn't be much else you have to do.

@JJackMoto why did you get rid of the XSR700? I hope it doesn’t have to do with COIVD-19.. I loved your content! I hope you continue RU-vid! A few questions about your TST Industries BL6 Pods were they smoked or clear? Could you see them in the daylight? I have the front flush mount clear, they look great on the bike, but during the day I couldn’t see them.. but during night isn’t a problem, I was just wondering as I’m planning on getting the TST Pods. As they are a lot cheaper then NRC front turn signals. Please and thank you!

@@Cflobert Hi Cody! I honestly just wasn't riding it as much as I would like, and with a growing family, didn't see that changing. It was an absolute blast of a bike, miss it quite a bit. I have a new project that I will be sharing with you all soon. Head over to my Instagram page to check that out @jjackmoto. I plan on doing a video very soon. As for the signals, mine were smoke, but were waaaay brighter than the pods that I had in smoke. I had no issue at all with daytime visibility. I absolutely recommend the BL6. Thanks for watching!
