I've enjoyed this series very much. I'm new to fixing bikes. It's been very helpful to learn how to fix and clean things on the Virago. I have a '94 535 with the same front brake issue as you got. I've bled it, changed to steel braided brake line, had the local Yamaha mechanic have a look at it, and it's still spungy. I'm on the lookout for a new master cyliner, but they are quite expensive so I hope you guys might come up with something that can help me. First I have to replace most of my fuel pipes. Got any good tips and tricks to deal with old hard pipes? They are sold out and it's very expensive to buy the parts from my Yamaha dealer. They said I could make them myself but that's a bit scary tbh. Thanks again. Love to see more.
Thanks for watching our videos. I just had a quick look on eBay (UK) and saw someone selling a new, full, master cylinder assembly for £47. I don't think it's genuine. Here in the UK, we use Yambits.co.uk and I can see that various repair parts are readily available. We definitly had some fuel hoses that just crumbled away as we were working on it. Obviously, when replacing the fuel hoses, you need to make sure that it is proper fuel-grade hose. I think the hardest part is getting the correct internal and external diameter. Luckily, we have someone local where we can take the hose down, and get the right hose. I think we still struggled with exterior diameter, and squeezing it in. Other than sizing, it's not so difficult to make your own. You just need a sharp knife and a measure. Good luck. Let us know how you get on.
Right. We've decided to make one more video, on our Virago, before we let her go. We're going to repair the Master Cylinder. We've ordered a Tour Max repair kit (£24.95). Watch this space...

Hi there, I stumbled across your channel whilst trying to find the colour code for my 1996 XV535, and saw your series on this one, that just so happens to be the exact same colour and spec as mine.....you wouldnt happen to know the paint colour code would you? 🤔 I have some minor paint work that needs addressing and do not want to change the colour. I don't have the code to hand but it's cocktail orange. Are you in the UK? I can look up the supplier that I used. I do have a small amount of the spray can left that ought to be good enough for a small amount of work. You're welsome to it if you're near enough to pick it up or want to cover the postage.
@MotorcycleFettlers Im in Nottinghamshire, and I do now know the code too, its 0941-OC1 Orange cocktail #1 I traced the actual code from one of your vids where cameraman is chatting about when he sprayed the parts.
