Motorcycle journalist Roland Brown tests the Yamaha XV950 and XV950R - Star Bolt in the US - on the bikes' international press launch in Venice Beach and on the surrounding roads of California
some of your information is off. top speed 110. 550lbs is actually light compared to a lot of other cruisers of similar cc. 140 miles to a tank, not a 100.
Maybe 110mph max on the clock, so nearer a genuine 100mph I'd guess. Tank capacity is 12 litres/2.6 UK gals/3.2 US gals which I reckon gives a realistic range of just over 100 miles for a typical rider. Maybe 140 if you ride very slowly and have a can bungeed to the seat just in case...
iMotorcycle Video i bought my bolt nearly 2 months ago and have almost 2700 miles on it. my girlfriend is always riding with me so this was doubled up. i hit 110 and i know there was still some power left. i know it can go higher but i know it would struggle as well and didnt want to push the engine to hard. i do a lot of highway speeds (60-80mph) and i get roughly 49 mpg highway and 43mpg city. the fuel light kicks in on the last gallon. i was told it would kick in at 20 or so miles but ive gotten 37 miles in after the light turns on before fueling up. ive made sure to trip all this several times and i get pretty much the same every time. i use rec-90 fuel, i know that contributes a bit.
Hi guys can you help me please? I am new into bikes. I am 28 years old and i am doing my bike drivers license in some days. I realy like the Yamaha 950 from the optic. Is this bike OK for a Beginner? I want to ride it only on my free time on Weekeend. And i think 150-300 Kilometers maximum each day. And i also want to cruise with that bike, not going superfast. I would be happy if you could give me some advise. Thanks :-) Sorry i am from Germany, i hope you could understand everything.
