At the end of August, near the end of the mountain stream fishing season, I went to the Kiryu River in Gunma. Fishing in many mountain streams in Japan is prohibited from October to the end of February in order to protect fish resources. Mountain streams in August have high water temperatures, and it is said that it is difficult to catch yamame trout and char, which prefer cold water temperatures, but the fish in the upper reaches are active!
