X Florio I feel exactly the same. I wanted him and his heart to be tested to see if he had what it takes and this fight proved he was even more than I expected. Great fighter.
I feel like aldo could have pulled that win off with the leg kicks. He made Yan switch stances very quick. He just dont use them that often like back in the days.
@@giornogiovanna770I think a lot of that had to do with Yan checking some of them. Aldo was throwing leg kicks a lot more this fight then I'd seen him in his last 3-4 fights.
@@giornogiovanna770 Yan was clearly just pacing himself, getting his timing down and figuring out Aldo. He was in complete control of that fight. Yan likes to avoid damage, hes not the type to take a shot to land a shot. I seriously doubt he was in any real trouble from the leg kicks. Notice how half way through the 3rd round he went into a whole different gear... he could have done that at any point in the fight yet he chose to wait. He hides most of his talent. Yan is a sneaky fucker. Lol. In my opinion... Aldo never had a chance. I have a feeling he's going to be champ for a while.
@@gabe6281 na I watched the fight with moraes and it was pretty clear moraes won I didn't even think it was controversial, moraes just landed way more the whole fight. Can you even win by being a punching bag? apparently people like you think so
@@GrowingDownUnder it was very controversial. In fact it was so controversial that the ufc thought aldo won and he should be fighting for the title instead of Marlon
I was yelling “stop” the same time Joe did. God hope that Dana or someone speaks to the ref about that because that was basically a legal physical assault.
I typically despise early stoppages, they are sometimes unavoidable but there have been several in the last year or two that had no business being stopped. The ending of this fight was the exact opposite of that, and should have been stopped about a minute before it was. There was absolutely no reason the fight should have gone on that long, and frankly it was disgusting to watch.
@@Naj2jacked o'Malley is a terrible matchup for him. Yan is powerful but slow plodding feet. Not to mention his short arms lol o malley just taking his sweet time clearing the division
This referee must have had it out for Aldo, he refused to stop the fight on multiple clear opportunities, great fight but a beating like that could change him for the rest of his life. There was a lot of mistakes made by referees and judges tonight, this card had so much potential too.
Well if the ref stopped it and Aldo popped back up and said “WTF”. Everyone would have said it was an earlier stoppage, bad refereeing and have a rematch.
You know what’s weird, part of me had this weird thought that the ref either was a big Aldo fan or had money on him and was giving him chances. Obviously if that were true it would be massively unethical. But I feel like this late stoppage came from the ref wanting Aldo to get back into the fight.
Fight continued for 1 minute after you wanted the fight to stop... Won't be surprised if that damage has lasting consequences... Horrible ref work here
Aldo may be 33, but he's old in fighters age because of the amount of fights he's had under his belt. I mean it could always be worse. Look at his teammates Renan Barao or Anthony Pettis. I simply don't see Aldo winning another belt. Hope I'm wrong, but I simply don't see it.
@@LucaBakiMMA its not abt the skills of the fighters he's ( or any other fighters) facing, its about the fighters background that the other fighter that they care about. A person who's been in an atlest 10 fights a month when he was a kid knows what im talking about
I was yelling "stop the fight" at the screen as well. Man, I was pissed. This is one of those cases where they coach needs to throw in the towel. I get the fighter ego and all that, but the coach needs to look out for their fighter.
Yup. Cause aldo is a legend and one of Joe's favourites, those boys and liver strikes were barely affecting Yans output and performance and joe is reacting wild over them, if he was there commentating and it went to decision his "OH!" outburst would do definitely swayed the judges the wrong way...
@@blickluke pretty sure hed be a lot less biased if he was commentating. But you cant completely get rid of bias. Joe hides it very well while commentating, but he has no reason to hide who his favorite is during these fight companions.
Joe loves fawning over Aldo. He did it the entire Moraes fight. Then wouldn’t say peep when Moraes landed. Marlon won that fight and Joe was just leading the Aldo robbery charge. Might’ve even helped get Jose the title shot for all we know.
Initially, I thought Max won, but after watching it again, I think the judges got it right. Bisping seemed very biased towards Max, and in round 3, it was Volk’s round. The numbers live during round 3 indicated that it was Max’s round, but the official statistics had Volk landing 25 strikes and Max landing 15 in that round.
BirdEye I’m not a millennial first off- The Ref let Aldo get beat up to the point where he could have risked a serious injury that could have potentially ended his career. It’s the job of the ref to keep the fighters safe and in some cases, their lives are in the hands of the referee. If a ref fails to stop a fight after a serious injury or beating like we saw, I don’t see how it’s hard to believe this man should be out of the UFC. Horrendous job.
All of those recent losses are to champions except for Marlon, and Marlon is a former title contender, and he’s still only 33 so he is in his physical prime. People love calling someone who’s top 5 in the world “washed up” just because he lost to a bunch of champs.
He wasnt humiliated. There is nothing to be ashamed in what he did. He lost to one of the best in the world and hanged on like a true dog. Where is the shame in that?
I feel like that was everyone’s reaction to that stoppage, ref needs to be suspended or needs his license reviewed and possibly revoked, Mario Yamasaki was probably yelling at his TV for the fight to be stopped it was that bad.
Can someone explain to me about the striking. Is it effective if you open your palm and then close it as quick when you want to strike? Or how does it work. I understand that opening your fist into open palm to defend the counter but I’m still confused about the fast open palm and when trying to strike they close it real quick.. ( I repeated twice LMAO)
truly.. when you’re so used to winning and being undefeated & you get ko’d by someone you absolutely hate in 13 seconds, it’ll change you.. i think he was so afraid of that happening again, it happened 3 more times..
Aldo can't do >3 round fight anymore. His jeremy stephens and moicano fights are not main event because he don't want a 5 rounder, and he was beautiful in those fights.
Remberer aldo had always that problem gassing even in his prime when he fought lamas, hominick he was so gassed in the 5 round... Its nothing new... Fighters are more complete now than before so you got be good at everything
