Cargo:
Six(6x) Coke Drums of 600 tonnes gross weight each and measuring 42 meters long and 10,50 meters of diameter
All the Coke Drums were shipped on deck, optimizing to the limit the space on board of the performer heavy-lifter vessels. Loading and discharging operations of these units were conducted in “single lift” thanks to the lifting capacity of the ship’s cranes. There was shipped a total cargo of over 27.500 freight tonnes.
Coke Drums were firstly loaded in Kobe Port (Japan), secondly discharged in Yanbu Port (Kingdom of Saudi Arabia) and finally transported to the jobsite.
During the loading operations and due to draft restrictions, the Coke Drums were directly lifted and loaded one by one from a barge at a pier with enough draught for the heavy-lifter vessel.
In the discharging port, all the Coke Drums were temporarily stored at a laydown area awaiting for being land transported to the jobsite at the destination refinery. This operation consisted of the haulage of each Coke Drum per day from the storage area at destination port to the jobsite, being the road transport distance 15 kilometers.
