I absolutely love your videos! Your analysis of the scents is so in depth. I can't wait to get my hands on Black Sand Beach, I've been searching forever for a beach candle that smells like salty beach forever and it might be the closest I can find. The idea of making it a Sea Witch candle during Halloween is an amazing idea. If Yankee really did that, I'd buy sell them out!

Ugh,wished I had saw your vid before I went to get Island waterfall. Yankee candle just opened stores in Singapore last yr and I'm obsessed! I bought island waterfall cos it smelled nice in the store & the sales girl told me it's her fav. I wasn't expecting it to be so strong smelling that it gave me a headache. First thing I thought of are toilet cleaners and watching your vid now, you totally described it perfectly! From now on I'm going to watch your reviews before I buy any other candles!

Wow! Love you videos, I get so drawn into them. I've been a Yankee candle fan for just over a year now and love the way you can pull all the different notes out of one scent. Amazing. You describe them so well.

Great video! But I think the flower on the lable is a Plumeria, a tropical flower often used for leis in Hawaii. It does not have much of a scent, just a faint floral note.

Another great video. I had the chance to buy these in the UK with QVC however as I had not heard the notes or had a smell, I did not buy, however your videos are amazing and will give viewers a great idea of what they smell like. Keep up the Good work Shane!

I love tuberose sooo much by the way!! Could you recommend me a tuberose candle? I also love gardenia but the yankee gardenia candle isn’t it for me.

I greatly appreciate the Little Mermaid shout out! I was slightly obsessed with that movie when it first came out. I was young, but after seeing it in the theater, my aunt got it for me when it came out in video form and I watched it 3 times in a row in one day!!! good grief. even to this day I can recite every line from that movie. did you draw that picture of her? it was beautiful! finally, I am both amazed and yet not surprised you hit the 500 mark. Amazed because it has grown so quickly! I like Tahitian Nights too. For me it's feminine, creamy, calming and elegant scent. I haven't tested other scents of this collection yet, but I'm very curious. P.S. I wish you all the best. You are my Yankee Candle guru 👍

From the description of Black Sand Beach it sounds like you're describing the Hawaiian volcano goddess Pele, but it sounds like it needs more volcano rock smell!

I bought a large yankee gardenia candle… I hardly ever light it. It smelt floral peachy sweet :( shame. Maybe I’ll find a time to burn in. In australia it’s hard to get these small yankee candles so it’s hard to test out the candles.

Hi Shane Your video is truly awesome (like all your videos) and you really know what how to build a rapport with people who love home fragrance and candles. We here in the U.K are not getting this collection but Yankee candle have just released an updated 2017 pure essence collection that to me is rather uninspired. We'd got cherry blossom, wild mint and Linden tree. I passed on the cherry blossom but purchased the wild mint and Linden tree and I find them both boring fragrances. Wild mint is exactly what it is it's wild spearmint with a hint of peppermint leaf to give it a punch. It's ok but wild spearmint to me has a green note that I'm not too keen on (a bit like the cat pee note you get with Christmas wreath but toned down). Linden tree is a sweet floral but it has a live woods note like the smell of young budding trees or fresh sap. I also get a note of dandelion flowers and a freshness that seems to be eucalyptus, I thought I was mistaken at first but to me the eucalyptus is there as a menthol cooling bottom note that adds a freshness to a fragrance that could be pretty clawing without it. Linden tree is the most interesting out of the 3 new fragrances but it still doesn't set my world alight and make me want to buy which is a same. I hear you are getting Sicilian lemon as part of your spring/summer releases the good news is it's a fragrance we here in the U.K have had for a few years now. It's one I love as it's straight up lemon (juice and zest) and has a lovely sweet yet zesty and tart note that I love. The bad news is from what I know it's just a repackage of Meyer Lemon that I think was discontinued (don't quote me on that though). We here in the U.K/EU never got Meyer lemon but got the same fragrance named Sicilian lemon which has been in the Permanent collection since it replaced sparkling lemon. Keep up the awesome videos they are truly a pleasure to watch. Joff 👍👍

ok, I know this sounds weird, but 'Black Sand Beach' smells like after you ride the original Soarin'.... there is this faint mix of citrus, pine, and ocean that are mixed and linger after that ride.... that is what memory this candle conjures up....

Best accurate, Intelligent and informative review I have ever watched! However I am a longtime loyal customer, Who for the First time is veeery disappointed in Yankee 's Spring lineup. I am hearing themed descriptions thrown around.... Alot of Exotic,International(Bahama,Tuscan,Mediterranean,French,and Tahiti.) and Floral. My opinion is these scents and others do not capture "Summer". I feel like these scents/fragrances just are not distinguished and differ from other seasons. As said above...The color and scent of "Black sand beach" resembles a Halloween fragrance to me as well, Vineyard seems closely related and can be subject to an Autumn/Fall burn, etc. What summer activities do I practice in Summer?...Summer is Swimming,Boating,Jet ski, surfing, kayaking! No Nautical scents I have come across! My Favs are Bay Breeze, Drift away, Oceanstar and Lake sunset! Although I love Yankee...But...I am not propelled to purchase this time. Floral and Tropical are the same...Right? Or closely related..Tropical flowers...AAAhh What about Watery, Nautical....*Earthy scents..."Earthy Direction" statement made was totally relatable! A Yankee scent I also love and have favorited is "Stoney cove"(Pictured as a Stoney cove on a beach with a small watercraft boat on the shoreline.)...I purchased this at a local Kohl's actually. Why not be more Nature diverse instead of florals it seems? Silver Birch I think is a good seller?...Expand in that direction! There are fans of Stoney/Mountain like scents like myself.. I also do not see how any of these constitutes a defined "Fresh Scent Collection" if they are! If I want to smell a flower...I go buy them(All year long availability.) and enjoy looking at them..Just expressing my thoughts...These just really left something to be desired and captured...Give me a Harbor, A Lighthouse, A Dock, Ocean, Sea salt, A Lake, Lagoon, Seashell....A Bay! I have a Mountain Lodge I burn in the Fall...How does YC have that and Home sweet home but not a Lakehouse scent?....Something Summer Festive other then a Flower or maybe a waterfall! I'm an employee at bed bath and beyond and when we got the black sand beach and me and my coworker sniffed it and named it the worst of this collection (yet we do not have french countryside). we said it almost smelled like a black licorice gumdrop chapstick

Black sand beach smells like tom ford black orchid.

I smelled some of these at Bed Bath & Beyond. There was another, an orange candle called guava coconut fusion. I don't think I smelled the black sands beach or the one with the lady on the label. I couldn't tell there was pineapple in the coconut candle. That makes perfect sense now. It was too sweet for me. Anything with pineapple usually is. I have a few Yankee candles with orchid listed in the notes and they are similar and powdery so that's how I thought YC interprets orchid. I'll have to see if that one is powdery. Now I need to go back and figure out which one that one was. Awesome video. Congratulations on your 500 subscribers! I'd say it's well deserved but you deserve so many more and I'm sure it will happen!

Orchids are the biggest group of flowering plants and as an avid grower I can say they run from chocolate, perfume, fruits, and some even smell horrible. Some are incredibly strong too... I have to say I've never smelt a plumeria either. It kills me they do orchids like "pink lady slipper" none of my lady slippers smell. But one of the most interesting orchids "Sherry Baby" gets no candle... Yankee please contact your local orchid society and do orchids the honor of an authentic candle. They could have their own line even
