The yanks hitters gave him this by not working the pitch count instead they were swinging early at pitches allowing him to have the advantage because he wasn’t tired of the yanks hitters instead of swinging at the first few pitches that he threw and instead made him work for it he wouldn’t have had an easy time against them it wasn’t good pitching it was bad Yankee hitting
@@MrDankzz-y7tThat just gives credit more to Yamamoto for even making them swing on those balls. The Yankees' lineup is among the very best in the league, everyone knows this. Stop trying to discredit the effort and achievement he has done, he deserved every bit of it.
Yamamoto did good as a rookie in a high pressure situation in the post season and the world series despite these so-called Dodger fans saying he is overpaid. Same people who say that the Dodgers would still win without Shohei. Ohtani’s presence alone is an intimidating force in the field. Hope he recovers. Without him on the field, the Yankees’ morale is better.
Tremendous one-hit pitching by Yoshi. The Dodgers got off to the best start than every this playoff series tho, seeing the Yankee counterattack in the 9th, they won't let em become champions that easily. Want em to pull emselves together and win at least one game on the road. Shohei must be struggling in the shadows as usual and must have wanted to do something. I don't think the two MVPs will end up quietly like this, and even if they do, their contributions this season absolutely Not disappear. The depth of the Dodgers' roster, including Freeman, Edman, Hernandez bro, Will, Muncy, and Mookie, is just a strength of the Dodgers.
Some Dodgers fans say it's fine because they won without Ohtani, so it's okay, but if he hadn't hit the double that tied the game in yesterday's first game, Dodgers might have lost. Also, he puts pressure on the opposing team just by being in the lineup, and he can move the bullpen of the opposing team. Ohtani's presence is enormous. I hope he's okay. And I hope Dodgers win the championship.
Roberts said he's able to move his shoulder pretty good and that he can still see him in the lineup in the upcoming games. They want to wait until they see the check up results from his injury.
Yankees fans have got to be frustrated with Judge. 6 strikeouts in 8 attemps in the first 2 games. This does happen to Star Players in huge games. Now the Yankees have to beat this Dodgers team 4 out of the next 5!😊
Yankees fans made the excuse last time that they were shut out by Yamamoto because Soto wasn’t in the lineup. Well, thanks to Soto, they managed to get one run this time. But everyone else? Yamamoto shut them down again. As of today, Yamamoto has been officially declared the Yankees’ owner, and players like Judge now respectfully call him *“Big Daddy.”😂*
It doesn’t matter who judge faces in the playoffs he’s going to strike out he probably would even strike out from a bat boy if he threw to judge in the playoffs
@@FieldEmperor it's just baseball but I don't see you calling out scumbag Yankee fans cheering for ohtani injury. Baseball gods been on the dodgers side both games
Actually, Edward Scissorhands was exceptionally good at cutting so your analogy is a bit wonky. But you are right in that the MLB highlights are usually top-notch compared to most other things.
Man Yankees are having it rough these first two games. First the walkoff loss and now falling just short of coming back in game 2. Another great game, hoping Shohei’s ok, and now LA’s two wins from becoming champs!
@@Shortymac111 Nah they def did, they were starting to rally but Judge, and Volpe struck out badly on pitches that werent close. Then Trevinio swings at the first pitch and flies out, granted it was right down the middle but when a new arm comes in and you come off the bench you want to see pitches and make him work, instead Dodgers get a quick out and win. But yeah through 8 it looked like the Yankees were outclassed, Yamamoto was dominating and the dodgers were smacking around Rodon. Hopefully Yankees can turn it around because I want to see a game 7
Big game Yama, my man. Japan series, WBC, NLDS G5, NLCS, and WS. What else?? He appeared 4 games in the playoff, and the Dodgers won 4 games. 325m??? That's worth every penny.
Rizzo didn’t even try to get out of the way of the 9th inning inside pitch…umpires have denied him a HBP before because he rolls his shoulder into an inside pitch (for an easy HBP) instead of trying to avoid the pitch…
I'm still uneasy when he gets to the plate, dude can knock balls out of the park. He is reminding me of Betts before he found his mojo at this October. - signed a Dodger fan
@@erichchan3Not for the majority of the postseason tho unlike Judge. He has high RISP and in fact if it wasn't for his 3 run home run in game 1 of their padres game they wouldn't even get at least a single win in the entire postseason. He might not be performing that well in the WS right now but strictly speaking in all of the postseason he's been far better than judge most of the time.
Man, Im torn on this one. Im a Detroit (Michigan Native) fan, and my Grandfather, who taught me more about being a man than my own father, taught me most things I know today, LOVED the Yankees! And he was from a poor family in Polk County, North Carolina 12 siblings and their house had dirt floors. He moved to Michigan and became a businessman and had two restaurants in Pontiac, MI and 1 in Detroit, he said he got tired of losing bets when betting on the tigers, so he started cheering for the yankees. He passed away Jan 21st 2023 and was still watching his Yankees at 84 years old, with Lung Cancer. I wanted to see them win it for him! I even bought a Yankee cap, I bought a red and white one cuz im a Detroiter and I know he would have got a kick out of that. But at the same time, this Dodgers team is just too good. It might be a sweep. Either way, I know he knows that I am rooting for them, for him. And that’s enough for me. Gotta love BASEBALL!
Seeing Aaron Judge struggle so far reminds me of Willie Mays. Willie is considered by many to be the finest player of all time, but he struggled mightily in the World Series. Mays played in the 1951, 1954, 1962 and 1973 World Series. In 20 games he had 71 at bats and drove in only six runs, while batting .239 with zero home runs. Even the best struggle at times.
Did you actually SEE Mays in these games? Just reading stats does not always reveal the answer. Ie an NFL team could 14 points in the last 5 minutes, and make the score close, but actually they got blown out because the other team let them score while burning up the clock. Mays could have hit every ball hard, but the hits didn't drop. I'm 65 and watched Mays in the '73; series, but he was older so why count that series.
Maybe Judge will comeback in NY. His view of pitches is way off and he’s over anxious to have a big game. I wouldn’t count him out. I remember a series as an amateur player when I went 0 for 8 in two games and bounced back with two doubles and two HR in the third game. My coach gave me a vigorous lecture and 1/2 hour of special batting practice.
He is a big-time pitcher, and it is good that he doesn't speak English, so he doesn't have to listen to those crappy doubters. BTW, I'm 100% sure Yamamoto can go 8th, 9 thinning, he is this good.
At this point you have to consider moving Judge in the batting order. Maybe that will get a spark going for him, but you can't have a guy strikeout 3 times a game with runners on base
Dodgers almost ruined a stellar performance by Yamamoto, but gladly they didn’t. The 9th inning made me so nervous. Praying that Ohtani is ok and can play next game.
Aaron Judge getting paid 40m a year to bat .162 in the playoffs is in contention for being more of a choker than Embiid, Harden, and Playoff P. .199 career post season avg. Smiling in his post-game interview. This guy doesn't have that dog in him that differentiates the good from the great
Judge has'nt been the same since the last regular season game when he went 0-5 struckout 5 times, but I read Bears go into hibernation starting in October.
i feel like the best players of both teams, Ohtani and Judge, are underperforming during the postseason. It's mostly the underrated players like Edman and Stanton that are carrying the most
Shohei is getting pitched around a lot, but he's got the skill and power to occasionally send pitches way out of the zone into the stands. if he doesn't get some bigger hits soon he'll adapt and hit more line drives
Because he’s first to pitch and base aren’t loaded they can give him their best pitches and placement and the worst that could happened is they walked him. He hit when it mattered and when they can’t just walked him showed it’s not that big of a problem with his hitting though training ground report is not good. Judge on the other hand seemed to have bigger problem, he struck himself out with lack of discipline.
Note to Aaron judge work the pitcher stop getting out after 3-4 pitches work the count by fighting the pitcher make him make a mistake let him battle you you’ll tire him out and he will make a mistake to not only you to other hitters because he will be tired
Crazy part is I just watched this game and I’m watching highlights now 🤣. But on a serious note when the Yankees get in their groove they are a behemoth in the offense. Dodgers defense and offense has been able to stay consistent and I’m happy we are up 2 but that doesn’t mean a thing. It’s not over till it’s over and the Bronx isn’t going down without a fight.
12:18 Volpi, "a kid growing up in NY". 😅 Volpi grew up on the Upper West side, went to private schools and both his parents are wealthy physicians. Poor kid.😢
Not a Dodgers fan, but I really hope they can win the WS for Shohei and Freeman. I get that Shohei Ohtani isn't very good in the WS, but his presence is important. He made everyone on the Dodgers better. And don't forget if it wasn't his clutch double in the 8th yesterday, the series will be tied at 1-1. As for Freeman, he is just amazing. Don't forget is playing with one leg. He hit another homerun today. I hope the Dodgers can close the series so Freeman's game-winning homerun won't be irrelevant.
Tommy was the star of the NLCS and he hasn't slowed down. His 9th inning base hit in game 1 last night was crucial to the Dodgers winning that game. I call him Tommy-gun Edman - he mows down the opposition spraying hits all over the field.
I pray to god for ohtani to be okay. The Dodgers need ohtani if they want to win the championship. I don’t watch any sports at all. But I only watch the Dodgers is because of ohtani. In the first game ohtani hit a triple and score to tie the game and that give Freddie freeman a chance to hit that home run. In this game he didn’t do anything. But still ohtani is important because the next 3 games will be play at Yankee stadium. So the Dodgers need ohtani
