Hi and thanks for your comment. There's two main benefits to having the block on the arm as shown in the video. The first is that is provides a physical break in the hosing which means that is damage occurs to a hose then you're only going to have to replace one length either side of the block rather than the entire hose from coupler to machine. The second is to prevent damage to the hosing during operation, by running the hosing to / from the block it stops the hoses becoming squashed / crushed in stress positions when operating the arm of the machine and therefore prevents damage that would otherwise occur over time because of this. By using the block our engineers are able to run the hosing in such a way that they have maximum protection from damage and also incurr the least amount of stress possible during operation.
