Yann LeCun is the Tesla of our era. Absolutely "no one" pays attention to him, but, at the end of the day, he will be right. We'll see how long it takes for the AI community to veer in the same direction as Yann.

He's too loud. No matter if you're right or wrong, being loud is not a good quality for a scholar. If you are a scholar, you are meant to publish experiements and carefully draw conclusions in a reseved way. Your job is not to make random bold points on social media. Just look at Hinton, that is what a scholar should be like. Talk is cheap, show me the code.

@@RaySqw785 Yes, and that is what LeCun should have done. If he must make so many different twitter posts, that is okay, back up each with a 20-page experimental report. That is what science should be. Epic large-scale experiments, but reserved can careful conclusions. A bombardment of facts and only a handful of opinions.

Yep, I agree LeCunn. Seems likem the adult in the room when everyone else looks like scared children. Especially at this early stage of the game for cryong out loud. Open source is so obvious the correction direction.

Yan LeCun is perhaps one of the most overrated people in the world. He spends his days on Twitter spewing unoriginal left-wing politics, which is relevant to the fact that he has not had any good insights on AI in about 5 years.
