Thanks for posting this Yanni. I am ever grateful to have had the opportunity to sing this with you. It remains one of THE highlights of my career and has touched many souls. One of my fans said this is what got him through his service in the Iraq and Afganistan wars. A wonderful message of hope for our world now. Timeless!

Rayos la mismísima Darlene en persona, señorita por más que busque las palabras, no serán jamás las exactas para agradecerle el gran regalo de volver a escuchar su hermosa, maravillosa y melodiosa voz angelical, la combinación de tan Bella mujer con estás cuerdas tan celosamente trabajadas hacen que su sola existencia la vuelvan una gran obra de arte esculpida en carne y hueso, y saber que se encuentra en perfectas condiciones, la convierten en una Leyenda viva en la música, que a la fecha no me resulta Agradable que no conozcan a la mujer que llevó este tema, a mi parecer, a ser la mejor versión de esta obra musical. Yanni live at the acropolis is perhaps the ultimate experience. I was watching it on TV with a surround sound system and it...well, I'm not sure how to explain how it made me feel. Mesmerized? Joyous? The visuals and sound production were immaculate. I want to experience it again.

I was fortunate to see Yanni and all the original principles of the first tour of Live at the Acropolis in Seattle -May 1997. Seattle was always the last stop of his concert tours and a bit extra special, since it was during the 10+ years he was dating Linda Evans who lived an hour south of Seattle. I have the original DVD and CD. I have seen Yanni 5 times in concert, but IMO, Live at the Acropolis is his finest collection of work. As a self taught piano player, learning to play Until the last Moment, is a cherished accomplishment.

This performance is simply perfection. Everything about it; the melody, the arrangement, the musicians, the stadium, and of course, the two vocalists. I kept my tear ducts in check until the last 25 seconds when Darlene delivered that final, pitch perfect soaring note to the song's climax. Some tears are worth shedding.

Just to be clear, Yanni didn't write the song. He took the "Flower Duet" melody from the MUCH better French opera *"Lakmé",* added a bunch of pop shlock and rhythms to it -- and had two shrill singers warbling something close to the tune but not the lyrics. Listen to the original (especially the one sung by Sabine Devieilhe and Marianne Crebassa) and you might realize what an abomination this really is.

And the human eye formation in the end formed by many human beings and that 'wink' to close the ad. You won't believe how many people I have spoken to about that ad and this extremely high pitched vocal rendition as its background and people still don't remember.

I went to a Yanni outdoor concert in early 90's in Raleigh NC (before his music went into the stratosphere). Darlene sang this and honestly I thought her voice would shatter the overhead stage lights! People were in total silence with their mouth open in total awe as to how amazing she was. I'll never forget that concert as long as I live. Still a Yanni fan after all these yrs. He is a musical genius IMO!💖

The acoustics are powerful. I’ve seen another video where he performed this same exact number at an indoor auditorium, I could barely hear each instrument.

@@OlgaLevin Just remember sometimes those videos are taken by people with cheap cell phone cameras and not by professional audio and video crews with the appropriate rigs to render HD quality sound and video.

@@algallego There's actually been acoustic studies at three (3) of the major Greek venues and they are not as good as we believe. The thought that a coin dropping on stage or a piece of paper being torn can be heard from the back row has been disproven. Only about 1/2 way up can they hear those sounds and that assumes no one is talking or making noise. Here, it was just great sound system that did it. He can thank 20th century (at that time in Sept 1993) technology for the great sound. The theatre had little to do with it.

I can remember this day very well. I was a little girl in the 3rd grade. I watched and listened to you play live on PBS for the 1st time, and have never stopped. I fell in love with music for the first-time, it inspired me to play the flute. I love all your music and how it bring everyone together. I have been to your concerts and can't wait to see another. I love this music too. My deceased wife was a CNA and took care of her bed-ridden Dad for several months until his death. He died in South Chicago. My wife was distraught as he was her favorite patient. We were already Yanni fans.

I saw these two lovely ladies in the concert tour of Live at the Acropolis in Seattle May 1997. It was the last concert stop of the tour. He was dating Linda Evans, who lived less than an hour away in Lakewood.WA and in theaudience. To this day, that concert is one of the biggest highlights of my life. I have seen Yanni 5 times, but Live at the Acropolis concert IMO is Yanni's collective concert finest. I have the DVD of the concert, AND the original CD, which is currently in my car and gets played often. Also as a self taught piano player, learning to play Until the Last Moment, is a cherished accomplishment.

I discovered Yanni as an 8th grader, who would spend his lunch break helping out restock books in the library! I remember listening to this and just being filled with happiness!!! Its now been over 25 years and this song still has the same effect!!! Masterpiece of a song!!!

A very Happy 67th birthday to Yiannis Chryssomallis November 14, 1954. Kalamata, Greece. Yanni popularized the combination of electronic music synthesizers with a full symphony orchestra. #1 in Billboard's "Top New Age Album" category. Truly a fantastic musician. Many more Yiannis.

This is the ONE song I expected to hear and enjoy back in the day on the CD and there apparently was some kind of technical glitch with the original recording so it wasn't included. Finding this so many years later... I am in tears. SO perfect. THANK YOU for posting this.

There's only so many minutes one can squeeze onto a CD so I think that has something to do with it.

I actually got an original copy that DOES have Aria as the last track. I believe it was a UK released copy. The US copy may not have had it. I found on ebay a replacement 3 years ago after my car was totaled and my original copy was in the car that I never got back. The replacement was "new, never opened" that came with Aria on it. VERY HAPPY CAMPER!
