This was so hot in the clubs! 🔥🔥🔥🔥And this was the short version, the 7 minute extended version was the bomb, that’s what everyone plays.🔥🔥🔥🔥My favorite part was “ just because it’s 2 o’clock, don’t mean that we have to stop “, so true in the club when the music is still hitting, nobody was ready to leave! 😄🔥🔥

This song was their one and only Top 40 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the early spring of 1980. The song did peaked at the #19 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and it peaked at the #26 spot on the Billboard Dance chart as well. A very underrated r&b crossover hit of the 1980s!!!

Definitely a great dance groove! I read that it hit #1 on the US R&B Singles chart and 26 on the Dance/Club Play Singles chart. A few Hip Hop artists sampled the beat. I enjoyed hearing this after 40 plus years, WOW.

Q. for the old school R&B heads: do y’all think that The SOS Band’s “Just Be Good To Me” sounds a little (or a lot) like “Don’t Stop The Music”? I think it does. And Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis were prone to do a little “borrowing” in the past. 😂

I like your new intro! This song grooves, but it's kind of creepy to me! It reminds me of a scary carnival ride in the dark with evil entities lurking in the invisible and ominous background! This would be a perfect soundtrack for the Hitchcock movie Strangers On A Train! Last thing, the male lead singer sounds a lot like Stevie Wonder! Goodbye!

Yarbrough and Peoples was NOT one hit wonders!! They kept on hitting the R&B Charts. Guilty, Heartbeats were top ten R&B hits, and "Don't Waste Your Time" went to number one!! Just because they didn't crossover on the Pop charts doesn't make them one hit wonder!! P.S. there all videos to these great songs... Do your homework!!!
