Look into Squid, The Blinders, Cabbage, LICE, The Orielles, Dry Cleaning, Shame, Slaves and Royal Blood. Dry Cleaning and Slaves are probably the closest two to this lot.
@@Parkskigaming Funnily enough I was listening to Dry Cleaning and Sports Team last night and I thought the last couple of years have been the best for music for decades.
Unfortunately wit and sophistication are not the order of the day in this mundane age of Sheeran, Adele and Coldplay. Nowt wrong with noble obscurity though.
These are amazing. I'm 43 so accidentally find music, these are great, I accidentally found echo and the man too, think this is a new genre of music before our eyes, like a angry socially aware punk indie rock rap thing, bit of a rage against the machine but drinking tea and eating chip butties
My old french [post] punk ears like it a lot ... a new "Yard Act's cluster" is growing in south of France, friends are OK ! Wainting for more, more, more ! MERCI
@@Рэгын Hello Рэгын ! For me, the best french post punk band today is Frustration, from Paris. Search "Frustration live Villette Sonique", a great live !!! .... at the end with Jason Williamson from Sleaford Mods.... HOPE you like it !
Alan Bennet, Dragnet era Fall, Television, Talking Heads (the band not the book), Talking Heads (the book not the band), some 90s type grunge shit, Parquet Courts and Arctic Monkeys song Nettles.
BRILLIANT I just love your stories and the way you deliver them... You've got to come to France when all this shit show is over! In the meantime, I'll keep spreading the word! Keep writing, keep playing, just keep it going!
I love the stuff that I have heard so far and I am keenly awaiting an album but I'd never seen them perform live. Wow! FUCKING WOW! I'm off now to ask my neighbour 2 doors down for my socks back.
Yard Act are one of the best, new, home grown bands I have come across in years. I've been with DiY since the back end of the 80's though and I don't remember this. Perhaps the others forgot to mention it. 🤫
Takes a lot for me to raise an eyebrow these days, but I do like this lot. I’m a Patti/Television/Fall/Moz/Clash/J.Div/ kinda bloke - so they have to be good .
I saw YA at the Blue Dot festival, a few days ago... It was a blistering set. Blown away. I yelled " Fucking Brilliant" 3 times, as the band exited the stage, and four strangers faces turned to mine and mouthed "i agree". Best live act i have ever seen. Best band in the world today. Fact. Outstanding.....stay grounded boys, things are gonna get hectic.....
A stunning Fall/Sleaford Mods/Half-Man-Half-Biscuit/The Wedding Present hybrid. I and you can dance to it (not me, you) This lot are going to do well - Our venue in Cambridge already sold out for Sept.
