Being new to snow, this winter, we got a snow thrower. We opted for the 60v greenworks since we figured we were buying into a system not just getting a tool. We've got the 21" snow thrower, 18" chainsaw, 26" self propelled lawn mower and 16" trimmer. All have worked great! So much better than gas. Nice to see other people I respect making the same choice, it makes me feel a little more reassured I made a good choice! Thanks for your videos!

April - Thanks for the tips. I used to do the trick with the plastic tarp when my family and I lived in Missouri in the Ozarks. We had a yard with a copious number of oak trees that dropped a boatload of leaves in the fall, and another load in the spring. I cashed in a week's worth of vacation and bought a push blower to moved the leaves onto the tarp and then drug them to the dumping spot for the city - it worked very well for us too. Blessings to you and your family.

I've been on a lawn care crew for the last 4 years. My #1 tip is to make sure you blow the clippings away from the road and always make sure to weed eat so the string is spinning the opposite direction of the house or cars. This will save you a lot of trouble.
@gregthorne4292

I use a chain hoist installed in my shed to lift my mowers to easy work height to clean them. I also use a cradle made from an old ratchet strap to lift them to keep them controlled

Good tips. One thought about your mower accessories. Use velcro straps instead of zip ties so you can take them off when you store your mower, then put them back on for the next time. Also, if you have a riding mower that shuts off if you get out of the seat, make a docking spot with velcro or some type of clips to hold one of those extended reach wand grabber thingies (that's a technical term 😏). You can also stick a 5 gallon bucket between your feet. That way, you can pick up trash or small branches without getting off of the mower.
@thomashajicek2747

Smart. I was thinking, great idea, but I always fold down the handles. Velcro is the perfect solution.

@benhatcher2603
@benhatcher2603 3 года назад
The blower works great for getting charcoal grills going fast, too. The main thing that you have to be careful about is the radiant heat coming from the fire. It is unaffected by the air movement and can melt the blower nozzle if you leave it for too long.

Hi, I like the weedeater tip in the bucket definately going to use it, and the lawnmover tip. The sail on the pickup I use for many years, dump garden rubbish at dumpsite within seconds. If I may add, chose a bigger sail covering the sides and back and rear window of pickup, close rear lid. I then clamp the sail tips in front doors, fill up the back space, fold excess sail down rellease sail from doors, drive to dump. Open rear lid, wiggle sail out a bit, then you take the front tips and bent it over and pull everything off the vehicle, with one assistant this happens in seconds, and you drive away again. One thing I quickly realised is never to let compact rubbsh sit on the rear of truck for a week or so, you have to dig it out to move sail....This method saved my day at rubbish dump every time.....Good day.

Thanks for some great tips. I have found an easier way to break down leaves. I mow them in the mulching mode on my mower. Then I add the grass catcher and mow them up. Makes quick work of the job and whatever the mower doesn't collect makes good mulch/fertilizer for the lawn. Sure beats raking leaves all fall.
@patspears2226
@patspears2226 2 года назад
If you mulch the leaves with your mower and leave them on your lawn, you'll build up topsoil.
@roger80465
@roger80465 2 года назад
@@patspears2226 the problem with that can be volume. If it is too thick, it will mold and an early snowfall can cause it to mat down and smother the lawn. It has happened to me. There is always enough that falls through the grass to mulch and fertilize.

When digging a trench if you put plywood down you don't have to fight getting dirt off the grass just scoop the dirt off the wood and pick up the plywood and dump or blow off the remaining dirt into the trench to fill it back up.

Great video. I also use the tarp solution for dragging stuff around where I can't transfer using my wheel barrow. I like the dolly and trash can alternative to a wheel barrow for being more stable and a back saver. Plus with those big dolly wheels you could probably handle a much heavier load in your setup than a wheel barrow over rough terrain. I switched to electric from gas lawn equipment last year and haven't looked back. So much easier to maintain, and people may say electric is underpowered, but unless you're trying to maintain some really rough ground you don't need tons of power. And the higher power electric tools are comparable tp gas motors anyway. I have the same greenworks tools you have and they're great.

Tip #2 happening this afternoon! My birch trees shed so many tiny branches...
@timderks5960
@timderks5960 3 года назад
Unless you're running a reel mower, you are fine just mowing those branches. They usually disintegrate into nothing after the first or second pass. Your blades can handle it just fine, I've mown upto inch thick branches (some accidentally). The only things you need to be wary of is sand and metal. Those will ruin your blades quickly. Small rocks are an inbetweener. Usually, they're too deep in the grass to actually be hit by the blades, but even if they are, most of the time they just break without causing damage. I wouldn't recommend hitting rocks with your blades, but I wouldn't go picking out every single tiny rock out of the grass either.
