I bought nearly same mower YARDMAX 21 in. 170cc 2-in-1 Gas Walk Behind Push Lawn Mower with High Rear Wheels from Amazon delivered to my house for $260 dollars Sept 2023. I followed the directions and the mower fired right up. Right after I finished mowing, while the motor was still hot, I changed out the oil to straight 30 small engine oil (NOT SYNTHETIC). Taral Dactyl has found that some small engines are seizing up the piston because the synthetic oil does not properly seat the rings. I have used the mower 15 times, it has nearly 7 horse power, it cuts and mulches thick grass, without lugging, better than any other mower I have ever had. The only complaint I have is that the mower back flap is too wide and it snags the ground when pulling the mower backwards making turns. So I cut about 2 inches off the back flap. Overall the mower, for $260 dollars, delivered to my front porch has performed very well. If I get 5 or 6 years out of it, it was well worth it.

I actually went a Honda self propel hrn216 i think the model is. Its been great so far but I am rough with mowers so i did have to bring it in to get repaired (I clogged the rear cover with to much split wood I disabled the self propel). Though now I also got myself a 50" toro timecutter used and really love the machine. When im in my garage it becomes my thinking chair. Just love sitting on it for some reason. relaxes me. Also got a stihl fs56rc trimmer i also really like and been busting tail with it. the combo of the zeroturn and trimmer i havent gotten back to using my honda anymore. Though still keep it just in case. Served me well. Sad no more honda self propells will be made, and this latest line has alot of recall issues.

He said he checked the oil and didn't mention it being low, however he did say it was full of silver shavings. Then he did an oil change and it started knocking and locked up. It was definitely locked up tight as he showed by disconnecting spark plug & trying to move the blade.... And of course we seen how bad it was when he tore the engine apart at the end of video. Chinese garbage engine & I had one do the same thing as well. That same 170cc engine is also used on the powersmart mowers & junk....

That 2-cycle lawnboy is a beast of a mower. As long as you could get the parts it probably will outlive you? This terrible Chinese garbage is unbelievable & trash....... That's why a lot of people are trying to find a good used push mower & have a reliable engine. The old Lawn-Boy 2-Cycle like you have can last for many decades. Remember the old days when our grandparents would have push mowers 30+ years old and still running strong?

It's awful the junk everything sold these days. Maybe call the company and see if they will help you. So sorry you are dealing with that companies junk. Since that video they are sending their customers to me!!! I have told them over and over their product is junk, and no we will not work on them.

Excellent video mr. T Bone. However, you tightened down three bolts off camera & abused mrs. T-Bones ears.(ROFLMAO)😂 That same 170cc engine is used on the powersmart mowers which is associated company. LoL We had one of the 170cc last for approximately 3 seasons, however it would lock up hot and only start after cooling down completely. The other powersmart 170cc locked up cold with no knocking sound or shavings. Neighbor's Yard Max 170cc did the same as the one in your video..... If you would have got to keep those two new engines you could have used them to prop the door open, etc,etc.... Keep up the good work mr & mrs.T-Bone🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

@@RaleysSmallEngines Hey T-Bone, are you aware Honda is ending Lawn Mower Production? They will be permanently closing their facility & consolidating with another Plant. The Plant remaining open, builds Side by side ATV'S. Lawn Mower's and small Engines are done after 2023. Due to harsh E.P.A regulations. Just heard this the other Day, on 'Small Engine DIY' Channel RU-vid.
