I do believe in the afterlife and I am a Christian. I was in a very scary car wreck with my 2 year old son. We crossed oncoming traffic on the highway after spinning out of control. Absolutely terrifying , until I heard the voice. Like you, it was outside of my head. As we crossed the median and I knew we were going to cross oncoming traffic, my whole body shot through with warmth, heat, and the voice said you are going to be OK. I smiled! I actually felt completely calm and said to my son were going to be OK! There was a huge gap in the oncoming traffic. We crashed into the bank on the opposite side of the highway and crawled out without a scratch. Afterwards it felt so strange. I knew it was extraordinary, but that I couldn’t tell many people because they would think it was crazy. Even those with a strong faith life can have a hard time understanding it. I felt sort of “other” for awhile but I do see it as a miracle in my life.

NDEs are fascinating. Thanks for sharing your yarn crawl experience and thoughts on indie wholesale. That is something I often wonder about. My favorite thing about yarn crawls is seeing new-to-me yarn in each store, so I would absolutely be disappointed if they were all carrying very similar stuff. Your crawl colorway is gorgeous!

You could add a solid color pop to the Trunk Island Tank. Thank you for sharing the Yarn Crawl videos. The nearest yarn Shop is 90 min away, and because of a disability, I rarely leave the house anymore😢 I believe in the guy with the beard. Holding on to the hope that someday I’ll have a new body, and be able to do all the things I wish I could’ve done. Looking forward to riding a bike, and swimming. Have an amazing day!

I have worked in nursing and sat death watches, just being there for anything they or the family needs but knowing it’s very close to their end. Numerous times I’ve seen people open their eyes and look above them, a feeling of peace came into the rooms and the person smiled. That made me believe they were being met and I’d just smile, if any of the family were with us I would point this out to them. I’ve read a bunch of books over the years, I’ve done past life regressions, discovered two past lives. I believe we can connect with those who have passed over, like you said telepathically, so it’s hard to prove to someone else. ❤️🙋🏼‍♀️nothing to fear. I’m not a go to church on Sunday really religious person but nature is my church. But many beautiful things can not just be accidental , pictures in frost, how many different things have repeated designs , like triangles.

So good to see you again…No NDE but many deja vu experiences when I was younger which seemed to have reappeared since I retired last June. It can be disturbing when the experience is negative. It’s almost like seeing a future event happen but not sure of the realization of the event. When I was younger, my mom used to have visions that would be realized…a lot to grow up around.

Another enjoyable podcast! I had a near death experience in 2016, the day after Ironman Lake Placid. I passed out 10 times. I needed CPR twice. Long story short, I was at the awards ceremony and passed out. I was at the hospital for the rest of the times. It was electrical. I now have a pacemaker. The two times that I needed the CPR to be revived, it was so calm and relaxing, rather enjoyable. I still remember the nurse asking me if my ribs hurt because they might be broken. She said that she was on top of me. I’m not afraid of dying now (not that I plan to anytime soon).

Wonderful episode! I held my daddy as he transitioned to another world…he clearly saw his mom and one of his brothers. He had not spoken in 10 hours and sat up and called their names as clear as could be…several minutes later he left this world for another. I use to live in Roanoke, VA and find that state so beautiful! Hope the smokes passes quickly! Love you new summer yarns! Travel includes TN, AL, FL and hopefully New York! Enjoy your summer

How funny it is to hear you speak of life after death. I had a NDE when I had surgery. I was floating up above myself looking down on the surgical table and there was a man in a suit next to me. All was quiet and the next thing I knew I woke up in the recovery room. The nurse said my heart rate had dropped during the surgery for a few seconds. I have been watching RU-vid videos about people, (mostly children), having experiences of other peoples lives from the past. My kids laugh at me but it is all so mysterious. Love your new yarn colors. 😊

Hi Gina, great to see you again. Really interesting podcast. So glad I found you today. I'm a huge Bowie fan so I'll be ordering the advent!. I've cared for several family members during their passing. My brother was only 42 . In the middle of the night before he passed, he pulled a chair into the hallway. I found him standing on it looking through the linen closet. He said he was looking for a suitcase because he was going on a trip. He passed away that morning. I cared for my father during his last ten months. The day before he passed he was in a really happy mood. Very relaxed. In the middle of the night he called out for me. I went in and sat with him. He was anxious but we sat together for a while until he was comfortable. I went back to bed. I had a baby monitor so I could see and hear if he needed me. I heard him breathing and saw a vapor and then he sighed gently. And he had passed. I feel they both knew and had their own unique way of crossing over. These experiances have always left me wondering and curious too. You asked for it so I'm just going for it. When I was about 12, everynight for about a week before falling a sleep I would become paralized. But I would have the sensation of my body rolling head over feet. I always saw a glowing image in front of my closet door. Before going to bed I started to check for lights that might be causing it. Nothing could. Finally one night I got out of bed holding my little terrier dog. We walked up to the image. I said "I'm not afraid of you!". It spoke back,, the dog jumped out of my arms. I fled down the hall to the livingroom and my mother called my name. Stopping me from running through the huge livingroom window. I never saw that image again or experianced the weird rolling sensation. I do believe there is some kind of energy either left behind and guiding us along. Thanks for the opportunity to express this and taking your podcast cown this road. BTW I just purchased the Six Feet Over book.

I have become more religious after my mom passed of pancreatic cancer. She became an Angel, and has visited me.. continues to do so. Sounds funny I know, but these were very real experiences and it's so hard to sum up here on a RU-vid comment. As you open your mind, I'm convinced you'll feel and see these spirits show up in our lives, even animals. My family/ friends have seen/felt spirits and I've heard other stories. I'm always sad when I hear people are getting farther from believing in a heaven/ after life.. I think it's an amazing thing to be a good human, a kind one, and lead by example.. I do think everlasting life will come. I don't think that belief comes with all these disciplines or judgements, but I think you have to try to be a good soul here. I couldn't watch those stories, it was hard to lose her to cancer. But it is so interesting hearing about people's experiences. Congrats to your son! I keep casting on all the things.. I'm going to swatch your cream aran yarn for the reading cardigan. All the best! - Kimberly

I had a hip replacement in my early fifties. As I woke up from surgery, I asked my husband and daughter who were there “why is everyone running around like chickens with their heads cut off? What was the emergency?” No one at the time was running around and my daughter asked what the red dots on my face. Later, I learned that I had stopped breathing and at some point began gasping for air( hence, the red dots/ broken blood vessels). They watched me for a couple of days in a special unit. One evening a lovely nurse came in to check my vitals. She said, “ I hear you gave them quite a scare in surgery and had them running around like crazy.” I don’t remember anything from the incident but feel I must have seen or felt them trying to resuscitate me. I do believe in an afterlife.

Your RU-vid caught my eye since my husband and I are considering relocating from Los Angeles area to the Shenandoah Valley. Your yarn is beautiful but your chat so much more meaningful than what is on your needles. Not to criticize, but most of us avoid conversations about real life and death. Imagine how freeing it would be to live without worry. Thanks for a refreshing chat.

Hi Gina: Great to watch another episode of your lovely podcast. I had a similar bad experience with being pregnant and doctor scaring the crap out of me. I was 29 pregnant with my first pregnancy, and he demanded I take an amniocentesis because I had a facial impediment. I refused and switched doctor. He caused unnecessary stress. I was worried throughout both pregnancies. Luckily, they were fine! Some doctors are very tunnel vision and should not keep causing unnecessary fears! Thanks for sharing. I love your Ranunculus and your beautiful colorway you’ve knitted it with! ❤❤

I enjoyed this so much - particularly what you are reading/thinking about. I also have the Mary Roach book by my bedside -- haven't started it yet, though. I read the earlier book by Rovelli Carlo, and have been interested in the way quantum physics and spirituality intertwine since the 80s or so when the movie Mindwalk came out (not sure how that has aged.) I am not a Christian so that explanation of the hereafter never resonated with me, but I do like the feeling of the idea of energy going back to source energy when we die. What a great discussion to listen to while I am knitting -- thank you!

I worked for many years as an ICU nurse and I don’t have anything profound to say about death but I do feel it is definitely a topic that needs to be addressed in one’s life. Answer the question of what is a meaningful life? There can be some things worse than dying and that would be dying after months lying unconscious in an ICU. Months of suffering can’t possibly be the way one would want to go. We had a patient that lived in the ICU for over a year before passing. Sad. Saw a lot of people pass at a young age from gunshots and that too is a sad thing to see. We also brought a lot of people “back to life” after a code blue but no one ever talked about a NDE then. Maybe later in their life after they had time to process what happened but I didn’t see a patient after they left the ICU. I’ll be ready for retirement when the time comes. Now working on Oncology so counting the years when I can look forward to less life and death.

Good to see you back on RU-vid! Always and interesting and honest podcast that stands out from the rest. No NDE but am retired pediatric PT ~ many kiddo’s (including my daughter with CP) have it so hard and are my heroes. The only way I can make peace with it is to look to reincarnation to help explain why some struggle much and some seem very blessed. Not because of a ‘past sin’ or ‘god choosing your path’ but your soul chooses something in each life for their own lesson or to teach someone else. Just my thoughts…

And so it goes, at 2AM I didn’t have the energy to write and say thanks for this episode. I fell in love with the minis and by the miracle of the Knitting Goddess was able to find enough energy to make a purchase😂. Slipped back into blissful sleep but had to come back and finish the episode. I totally am into trying to understand death, and as much as I am not rushing to get there I have been blessed in my life and will hope to be accepting when the time comes. Thanks for sharing your story, see you soon, I hope😊

Glad to see another podcast from you! Thank you for the walk around of the stores on the yarn crawl. We moved to IL and I really miss Virginia, so it was nice to see a little bit of "home" I had not been to them all but I recognized Backstitches in Lynchburg. I agree with you - it is disappointing to go into shops that all have the same stuff. Variety is nice. I love the colorway you dyed up for the crawl. Fingers crossed you still have a few when I get paid this week. 🙂 and by the way - your hair looks amazing!!

LisaR I don't think you're crazy .. Theres a lot we don't understand .. The similarities in NDEs , from very reliable people is remarkable . I've experienced situations as a nurse many times , while caring for two very close family members and while delivering my third son when there was a sudden unexpected complication . I don't believe we can truly conceive the concept of after life or what exactly that means , but people who experience NDE s perhaps have been given a glance at it- Interesting topic . Be well & enjoy the summer !

Hi Gina! Loved this episode so much. i always feel a similar energy to you and your stories resonate. Not NDE although many druggie / scary experiences from college. I was a typical rebellious preachers daughter. living with a father who is a preacher gives you a whole new insight into the reality of these people and the christian evangelical religion especially. So when I first heard The Voice, I was 26, planning my first wedding (which was at Westminster Abbey as my Dad was working there at the time). I was super stressed with work - 70 hour weeks were the minimum I was working in a very 'Sell sell sell' environment. One night, my dead Grandma came to me in a dream and told me that I needed to stop worrying so much about work and also about a difficult family member who i had been stressing about being at the wedding. I was sure it was my Grandma - she looked like her, but a young, beautiful version of her. Fast forward to the early morning of the wedding. I wake up in floods of tears (very unlike me) having just heard That Voice. The words I assume(d) were God telling me that it was my vows I had to think about. I shouldn't have married that man and the marriage only lasted a couple of years - and I am sure that God or whoever that Voice was was trying to tell me. This struck me so Hard that I started going to Roman Catholic church in the mornings before work and started opening myself up spiritually more. I believe in the chinese medicine theory that all things have energy in them - people, trees, air, soil etc - 'Qi' and that somehow we are all connected and that there is more out there than what science knows yet. Now, I am pretty full on 'woo woo' - embracing all things spiritual, although still feel deeply uncomfortable about church. I pray and when I feel like I pray hard, my prayers are answered in full. Like really specific things. Not all things, but some important life things. Sorry for the long comment! And thank you so much for opening up with your story and inviting us to share ours. The other comments are cool too X Ros X @rosem0nde on IG

Wow! Great video!! I do believe in it being or not being your time, so is this the same thing? Sort of. I've had a couple of experiences where I'm driving to work - usually take the same route everyday but on 2 occasions, I had strange occurrences. One on occasion I missed my exit so I had to go under the highway. When I got to work, I had a missed call from my husband wondering if I was okay due to a horrible accident on that exit. When I went back to research - it happened at about the exact time I normally go by there. The second time, I had an unshakable urge to take a different route, so I did. An 18-wheeler lost a tire that slammed into several cars causing a huge accident, also about the time I would normally go by that particular stretch of highway. Hmmm... I just love your yarn so much and I always enjoy your little extras too! Hugs from Texas!! ❤
