Your videos make me smile and cry in the same time, I am not crying because of sadness, but just to see, beautiful nature, beautiful people, relationship.... so special.
Thank you for always bringing, joy, love and graceful femininity. I love to visit you, Martina. Your Choose Your Own Garde; test knit is simply stunning. I adore the name for this project and i love your colour pallet! Beautiful 🌹🌼🌷🌱🤎🙏🌿
❤ your garden sweater, I am curious to see the onion yarn…, pre wetting the undyed skeins is helpful for next time, can’t wait to see the yarn, a hammer on the oak galls might work, take care, happy Easter to you and yours!
Oh my..your jumper is sheer joy...I cannot wait for it to come out and make one for myself. Dyeing with onion skins is so much fun and beautiful colours. Love your podcasts.💮🌸
Martina, your garden-themed colorwork sweater is STUNNING!! 🔥 You mentioned that in hindsight you’d like an extra little band of small flowers above the watering cans and I feel like you could do that with duplicate stitch! I think it’ll look similar enough to actual colorwork!
I agree, Francesca! (I wish I was the smart one to think of that suggestion 😄) I think duplicate stitch is an underrated design technique. The only issue here might be that the stitches would be raised a bit, compared to all of the other colorwork. But the great thing about duplicate stitch is that it's so easy to try something and then take it out, without damaging the original item, if it doesn't work.
Next time you may want to try soaking the yarn for 20 min or more before you put it in the dye bath. That allows it to take up the dye easier. Happy knitting.
Love that garden sweater! I can see your breath when you talk, your house must be so cold! Thank goodness you have so many warm and beautiful sweaters 😊
The oak galls are very interesting -- thank you for taking us with you to collect them! I've been doing the "walk 1000 miles" challenge, so I have been going on more walks than usual, but your video today made me realize that I'm not incorporating enough up-close plant observation in my walks. I'm looking forward to seeing the results of your yarn dyeing adventure. It's great to see you all settling in to your new home, and I love, love, love your little greenhouse! 💚🌱🪴
