Yarn Junkie Videos #2 

Hi, crystal. My name's mei and I'm a yarn Addict. I never thought I'd find somebody else who likes to totally nerd out on yarn like me. I love all your yarn reviews. And how much you like to buy yarn Because I love to buy yarn, too. My grandmother used to knit in crochet. Unfortunately, she passed away when I was 9 and did not have the opportunity to teach me. I have been knitting for years. I am determined to learn how to crochet this year. That's how I found you on RU-vid. She used to have, like a wall of red heart super saver and a lot of the variegated, she was very poor and she used to keep it in old milk crates, and the giant commercial ice cream tubs. She worked at a nursing home and they would get the huge like Baskin Robin type tubs of Vanilla Ice cream in for the residents. When they would finish them, she would wash them out and bring them home, dry them thoroughly and use them to store her yarn along with the old milk crates. It was like walls of yarn, I loved it. Even though I couldn't knit or crochet, I was still drawn to all that yarn even then.

Black with the Mexicana supersaver. I think use the Starlette would be my choice for the tree skirt. It looks like old gold to me.

For Tiffany Blue, I like the Wellspun Tidal Pool of the three you have today.

Those sales are awesome. I use blanket yarn for scarves, stuffies, blankets. Great for baby shower stuff. I make a 3 pc matching group, pillow,bear,and blanket.

I think the blanket yarn would make a very pretty squishy robe and it would be warm

Crystal what an awesome sale, beautiful yarn. For the tree skirt I think the darker color yarn has more gold sparkles but both colors will look beautiful.

Definitely black with the Red Heart variegated. The darker Glimmer mixed with the white one that looks like snow.😊

Hi Crystal, I don’t know how many balls of the blanket yarn that you got… but I think a cozy hooded robe or even not hooded. So soft and squishy! Would be so comfy to lay around the house in. I think I would use the darker one for the tree skirt! I imagine it with the green tree above it! They are both beautiful though. I would make many blankets with the beautiful big balls of Mary Maxim yarns! 🧶

You got enough to make a blanket with that blanket yarn, or a wearable, hat, scarf😊 Lots of things. Nice deals! Willpower is a no fun life 😊 Black with the Red Heart variegated. The darker sparkle for the tree skirt. Maybe even incorporate both. That silver and blue are very pretty together. Mellow Spun is a nice yarn to work with. Everything purple is stunning. Purple and brown go good together, in my opinion. 😊

Remember those massive skeins from a few yrs back. They were sooo huge! They never restocked those again. I so wanted to order them.

With that blanket yarn I like making walker and wheelchair cozies because people’s hands are arthritic here at my assisted living facility. It helps our hands so much it’s so soft.

The lighter one is like a A wheat color would go with blues.The mustard color would go with brick, red and brown.And for the mexican I would do black

I love crocheting blankets but I only do simple because of the distraction I get, so usually 1 or 2 rows is my go to and the more solid being we are up in the snow belt and it gets below 0 degrees Fahrenheit in winter

I like the robe idea! I miss my old channel one I had that tied in front, floor length one. Iwas blush pink and very cozy

That Red Heart Mexicana has been around forever. I remember seeing it in the window of the local dime store in the 1960s. I was able to talk my dad into buying me one. Bliss!

I don't think you could go wrong with either of those for the tree skirt.

I think the Glimmer yarn would make a more neutral/versatile tree skirts.

The Caron SS in the light pink, the charcoal grey and several others I bought are super shiny like the blue. And are softer now too.

Run both sparkly yarns together to make a bulky yarn for quick tree skirt. Be sure to make it modest!😂🎉❤

Hello , Crystal. For the Red Heart Americana use the Black to make the colors pop.

I've used that mustard yarn. Works up pretty nice and it looks better worked up than it does in the ball. IDK how good it will look as a thumbnail

I like the shiny blue Caron simply soft. You could make a hooded scarf with the merlot blanket yarn.

Blanket yarn is great for baskets too. I like the darker one for the tree skirt. I think it would display better. Mary maxim does have nice yarns and great sales. I like to wait for the discount too. It helps pay for shipping.

those purples would make a good Gingham! definitely black with the Mexicana. bring the tiffany box out so we can compare! Caron Simply soft is one of my faves, I love how shiny and soft it is. Their lighter shades tend to be really shiny like the Robin's egg blue.
