For me, I like to pull from the outside of cake yarn. It keeps the cake from collapsing halfway through. That said, my husband has a 3D printer and has printed several lazy Susan style yarn holders. More recently, I saw a really nice wood yarn holder with a wrist strap (so you can work on a project while walking or standing) on ETSY. I showed it to my husband and asked if he could design and print something similar. He did! It works great. Then I asked if he could make the piece that goes through the yarn longer so I could use it with larger skeins, cakes, etc. He did that too! I found that the key chain type clips with the swivel ring on the bottom are perfect for the design my husband made. Then all that is needed is a wrist strap. I purchased a pack on Amazon, but you could easily crochet your own strap. I've also seen a lot of people on RU-vid who love the Wool Jeanie. The price seems high to me, but I found something similar on Amazon for less than half the price. Plus, the less expensive version is made from wood and is much more aesthetically pleasing than the plastic original one. I thought about ordering the wooden version, but ended up asking my husband if he could design and print me some similar. Anyway, all that was to say that I found the outside pull less problematic, and my husband is awesome.

That’s so awesome you have it 3D printed! Thank you for the tip. I am halfway through this cake and it is definitely falling apart. I’ll pull from the outside when I start the next one. I threw together one of those spinning ball holders with a wrist strap. I’ll share it in my next video!

Kayla, your Fluff Around & Find Out sweater is looking so good! The speckled yarn is turning out so cool!! I can't wait to see it done. And the little strawberry hair tie/stitch marker is absolutely adorable.

I am thoroughly enjoying your patterns! The yarn I’m using is so pretty. I am more attracted by touch than color so I am secretly dreaming of when I can use the softer yarn I bought the other day for this sweater. 🤣🤣🤣
