Yes. They do work. Unfortunately many RU-vidrs have the wrong expectations and thus post incorrect reviews on these devices. Thanks for being one of the few with correct information.
This is exactly what we're looking for. Actually moving to San Antonio in a couple months and we want the general hardness in the water to stay but to decrease scale. Thanks for the vid!
Hey man good job and thank you. That said if you are more carful wrapping the coils you will get significantly better results. Even if you slightly overlap them. You have gaps in this installation. Peace
I saw one RU-vidr wrap the wires with electrical tape to keep them tight. He concluded that it didn't work. Do you think the electrical tape may have caused it to fail?
This is what I figured. I'm going to get a magnetic conditioner to stop the build up of limescale inside pipes and radiators and in white goods especially the washing machine. I can still use a water filter jug for the kettle.
I would add that there are no filters to replace and if you have private well water, this system does not remove the natural minerals that are actually good for you and preserves the good taste that filtered water doesn't have.
I live in Michigan and in my area we have extremely hard water. we currently have a iron filter and a water softener system but still deal with scale build up on a Daily basis can this system be used along with my already in place systems?
Hey Eric. Yeah the builder was nice enough to add a shut off valve on the pre-plumb. Its super helpful to not need to run to the water main for a shut off.
Nice job bro! I live right next to the Govt Canyon natural park. Wonder how scaleblaster home HD would work! Do you have any experiences with them? I have the pre plumb just like yours?
I haven't tried that brand, but figure they all work pretty much the same. There is a coupon code for $20 off this specific unit on my video description. Not sure how much the version from Home Depot costs.
Just ordered one today. Live in leakey and have a water well. Well is drilled into the Trinity aquifer. Hoping it does something because the buildup of lime is awful.
Thanks John. I hope this works out "well," for you. If not and the dissolved solids are too much you may benefit from a salt based system with a sediment filter and carbon filter. It is the extreme opposite from this solution, but its like showering in drinking water.
I live in the country and have a well. Im looking for the cheapest simplest way to help with the rust stains that build up in my bathtub. I dont care about the softness of water, just hoping to find a way to help with rust stains. Also My water heaters water is black when i flush it. And have flushed it alot but still comes out black. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!
Hey Sybreeder, you need a Well Water filtration system. I know you want to stay inexpensive, but unfortunately that may not be an option. SpringWell is an online softening/filtration site and offers a Well filtration system for just over 2k. It has a spin down filter ahead of the Well water filter to clear out sediment. This will solve your problem. Note that the rust stains are most likely coming from your water heater. You may need to replace it soon as corrosion tends to rot a hole in it. You can get a water heater with a ceramic lining, but it will also cost more. The good news is that those bad boys last for a very long time.
Ya know how when you clean out your Hot water heater, you have a ton of calcium in the five gallon bucket. Someone should use that for a test. Zap one with the descaler and see if there is a change over the control.
@@mikeprenis2187 I kind of wondered about that so that would make the descaler ineffective cuz if it's not taking that calcium out of the water and that scale is just coming from the rod the descaler isn't going to work on the rod.
The claim is that the minerals don’t adhere to surfaces well. Another video demonstrated this with a dish of water that evaporated, one before, and one after. The “after” dish had a residue but it was easily wiped clean, the “before” dish looked the same but could not be wiped clean without using chemicals.
In Florida I could see a HUGE difference. If I started taking a shower I could tell immediately if the water softener was unplugged. I would run out of the shower into the garage and plug it back in. My hair was 100% softer as my skin felt so much better. All the crap came out of my hot water tank, and pipes. No more stains in the bath or toilet. Best investment I ever made. But I didn't buy this brand here.
my problem with these kinds of is that they ocupy a small amount of pipe "real estate". for these things to work you need a lot of magnetic surface area. WARNING THIS IS DANGEROUS. how i did it was i bought about 30 n52 neodim magnets and placed them on a piece of thick walled copper pipe right as the water goes into my house. that copper pipe about 40 inches long and i placed the magnets the entire length of the pipe( the longer the better). the gauss strength of the permanent magnets is much more powerfull than you can economically create than any electronic descaler. the benefits of this is that the house pipes dont scale, thats it. and i water my lawn with less water because of how magnetised water works. my magnets are 20000 gauss each( 20kg pull)
Hello Prophetic, Your Solution Seems To Be Much Cheaper. Did You Place Magnets With Specific Magnetic Pole Position (say South Pole To Face Pipe) And What Was The Gap Between Each Magnet And Size of Magnets That You Used. Thank You.
@@jeevanb9527 when i did my research, what i found is that the orientation does not matter. what does matter is the strength of the magnetic field and the surface area. you will read that north does something and south does the exact opposite. i reality i didnt find any evidence that either is superior for our use. the bigger the magnet and the bigger the area the better (longer in our case). (read the article on nature for more info) my magnets are blocks 50mmx10mmx10mm 21kg pull (21000 gauss) axially magnetised so both "ends" are facing the water. each row has 4 magnets equally space apart from each other on the radius of the pipe 1 inch in between each row. It's more expensive up front. But long term is cheaper. That electric thing will work maybe 5 years. This.... until they rust away
My 2 cents here- a simple and cheap water hardness test easily demonstrates how efficient are any of the magic water softeners or improvers/ conditioners 😅.I reckon many people will get disappointed after seeing the results.
Would show the same as electronic descalers don't even suggest that they remove anything. They are supposed to change the formnof the calcium in the water to not scale as much
He's not presenting a scientific experiment with verifiable, sensor or probe device collected data , which can be replicated. He's also not genuinely presenting this out of the goodness of his heart, he is an affiliate for company in the video, and gets paid if people use his link to the company website and they buy one of these pieces of garbage.
Great!!! But you still have chlorine in your water along with fluoride! Why not just clean the water all together And be done with it! Don’t invest in a water softener but rather a conditioner!
You are totally correct Maverick. If you can afford a more expensive system and can install it, it would be more beneficial to get a conditioner, I personally have a three stage sediment filter, carbon filter, and water softener. Its like showering with bottled water.
@@willowriverranch7965 A conditioner will not remove the chlorine or flouride. You can go with a system that has a charcoal filter. I have upgraded my own home to have a system with a huge carbon filter ahead of the softener. This doesnt remove 100% of the additives, but it makes a huge difference.
@@ThisGuyProductions carbon does not remove fluoride, that’s why we had to do RO. We’re on a well now, have an excellent filtration system, but the water is hard.
As a plumber having seen test results these things are useless. These are just supposed to "condition" the water so the minerals stay in the water instead of falling out of the water. A softener removes the minerals from the water
I appreciate the feedback from a plumber. As was outlined in the video, the benefits of a decaler are minimal, but there is a benefit to dissolved solids not sticking to surfaces.
You must have severe comprehension problem. No one claimed that the devise is removing the minerals. The question is do the minerals continue to stick to the faucets or not.
@@markgorman4805 yeah the answer is in most cases they do still have mineralization on their fixtures. doing this for a living ive seen people try to use this many times and ive ripped it off and installed plenty of softners in the past. you must have a thinking i give 2 shits about what you have to think problem which is cute. keep it up big guy, someday someone will care about what you have to say.
@@mrspart5548 Again, before making nonsensical comments try to comprehend the topic of the discussion. Now that I explained it to you, are you saying the guy in the video is lying? The glass did not get cleaner?
@@markgorman4805 again before making retarded replies that nobody cares about, try finding someone who cares. asfar as comprehension goes when applied to plumbing and how softeners and conditioners work, I Probably comprehend them at a far higher level then yourself seeing as its a subject Ii studied in college and have a Inter-provincial red seal license to prove it. You've explained nothing here as anybody reading the thread can see for themselves, in reality the only one who even discussed the process of what's going on here is me. if you'd like to actually discuss how this type of product is supposed to work (but still doesn't do what's advertised in 99% of cases) then come out and play, otherwise you're just another internet troll commenting on something he clearly knows nothing about.
YARNA SAYS " INSTALL THE WRAPS ON UNOBSTRUCTED SMOOTH PIPE, WITH🚫 NO🚱 VALVES in the middle of the TWO WRAPS.... I clearly can see you have a valve in between the 2 wraps... Oh well‼️
