In the next instalment of the High Country adventure, I visit Yarrangobilly Caves, touring South Glory Cave and the amazing Jersey Cave. Short of places to camp, we obtain a last minute booking at Three Mile Dam campsite - a very picturesque spot next to a lake. Then it's time to head back to Tom Groggin Crossing, and ford the Murray River back into Victoria, making an attempt on the Mt. Pinnibar summit (but finding it... kinda... closed?) heading up to Mt Anderson Summit, and on to Wheelers Creek Campground - in preparation for our next adventure.

Those caves are spectacular. I'd guess if they were closer to a (non-Canberra) capital city they'd be a major tourist destination. I'm not sure if the video camera does justice to just how steep that descent down Mt Anderson was. Your description of feet-on-the-firewall helped!

Yeah, though I imagine that if they were much closer to a major capital city they'd probably be in much worse condition... the roof would probably be a nice matte black from all the soot. As for the Mt Anderson descent - always look at the trees! It'll show you not only when it's steeper than it looks, but also when the person filming has decided to cheat a little by turning the camera :) An external side view here would have been handy - but of course it's too steep to want to stop half way down...
