I watched this show when I was like 8, I’m now 44. This is hilarious 😄

The first 2 clips are already so hilarious! The fact that she didn’t realize she couldn’t say I don’t know in the second clips and says it unknowingly really takes the cake, especially after she already got watered for saying water.

Sad thing is in today’s world this show wouldn’t fly. It was great growing up in the 80s

I wish they'd do that on The View

15 years ago... the 80s... 20.years from now. Or 40. You Can't Do That On Television will always hold up. Unfortunately the generations now and in the future will never experience the feeling of getting up Saturday mornings and turning that UHF dial to channel 3. Which was a very brand new station called Nickelodeon. And watching this first ever kid show with this kind of comedy. It was brilliant. That's my memories.

The show that invented Slime

If you watch the clip, she said, 'Insufficient data'...which was a computer's version of saying 'I don't know'. Part of the clip was to show that the slime was being computer controlled for that one scene. Doesn't make sense, but that was the brilliance of the show.

I wish that this was the way the real world operated. Whenever someone says "I don't know?" You'd get slimed. I also gotta say. I loved this show. Awesome.

Lots of the kids were laughing when they got slimed or got water. You know I would've loved that. I miss the 80's

I remember watching this back in 1988 when I was 8. So funny! But I now feel bad for the people who worked in the wardrobe department on the show. All those green slimy clothing they had to wash.

Ah Lisa " Motormouth" Ruddy! She almost always got the water while Christine "Moose" McGlade got both water and slime! They made a perfect pair!

Such a great fun show. No political agenda just kids having fun and being entertaining!

I read somewhere that they got paid somewhere between 150 and 170 dollars every time they got slimed and around 50 every time they got water poured on them. For that money, I'd have been covered in slime and water the whole time. A kid in the 80s and that kind of money... too great

The part that I saw was funny when the man with the water hose sprays water the kids, Stephanie yelled "Turn the water off!!!", then the water from above dumped all over her.

You have to LOVE how sometimes the slime has this delay and you can almost see it in their faces where it’s like, “Oh...didn’t get....OH THERE WE GO...” 🤣🤣🤣 Or how the water goes on for way longer and you can tell they wanna laugh cause it’s like, “WOW this is still going????!!!!” 🤣🤣🤣 I don’t care how old I am I LOVE THIS SHOW it was GOLD!

The one where Nasti the Dungeon Guy slimes Vanessa is one of my favorites because before he does Vanessa suggests they use the new audience voting where you're supposed to press a green or red square on the TV screen, and he insists that everyone LOVES to see little girls get green slime "gal-lumped" all over them. For some reason I found that really funny as a kid.

Great acting....they always seemed so surprised and never broke character. I would have been laughing uncontrollably.

Is Chris the name of the visual effects guy who drops the slime and water onto the cast whenever they said “I don’t know!/water”

Moose was always a champ when it came to taking the slime and water!

Moose was Christine's nickname in real life, not just on the show. It has been said that she got the nickname because of her short stature, but one cast member said that Christine hated her curly hair and was always trying to flatten it down with her hands, which made it look like she had "moose antlers." In any case, when Christine mentioned this nickname to the show's producers, they wrote it into the script of every show, so she must have had a REALLY hard time living it down.

Where do they dump it from? Actually Vanessa I've always wondered that too? I just don't know? (Green slime) Very interesting. Is it always green? Yeah it usually is but I guess it could be red. (Red slime) Or blue (Blue slime) Or yellow (Yellow slime) Yeah. Alright you think you're so smart? Let's see stripes! (Red, Yellow, and Blue slime) Boy it must be tough being a TV star. How does this stuff come out? It usually comes out with water. (Water) Usually.

No mistake. It was part of the plot of the episode ("Families", from 1984). The boy (Jeff) is Ross's nephew, but Ross says that he can't get Jeff slimed or wet or "his mother will kill me!" However, at the end of that very episode, Jeff says "I.D.K." and DOES get slimed.

What I never understood was, why did they look up at the slime while it was coming down?

Water! (Water) You knew that was coming didn't you Christine? Ahh! The Great Christini knows all!

That never gets old.

Yep. She told Lisa she was sure she had come up with a way to admit she didn't know the answer to a question without saying the magic words and having the slime come down. Taking a cue from computers, she said, "Insufficient data." That's why Lisa makes the comment afterwards about the slime being computerized.

On the 1984 episode "Famillies", Lisa's first word as a baby was "Wawa" which was a baby word for "water". (watered) "Wawa" was a funny word.

I Always Wondered What Might Happen if Someone Said “By the Power of Grayskull”.

That would make that show watchable. You could make it where the word is secret before the show so it is always a surprise.

I got slimed like Vanessa at 6:22 but I instead used green gel, green shampoo and conditioner, green water vinegar, butter flavored syrup, all green glues, Staying Glue Gel, Green Styling Gel, Extreme Hold, Sick Day Snot Slime, and Green Paint. I got hit everywhere Vanessa got slimed on. Vanessa is my favorite 👍👍👍👍👍💲💲💲💲💲👍💲💲
