In this video, we will show a special way to retime the balance shaft so that you don't have to remove the sump. Parts fitted on the car yd25.com.au/index.php/services...
Do you have to rotate the small gear to a certain point before you mark the first tooth or it doesn't matter as long as it matches the factory mark on the gear?
At the end where your painted line lines up with the two dots above, why is there a factory dot on the gear that’s two teeth away from your painted line? And is that where it should have been set from factory? Thanks
@@paulsimpson2232 It's not lined up properly...Have to keep rotating until it does..then there are 2 gears on the back of the balance shaft with the sump off that have timing marks that should also line up if done correctly...This video is incorrect
have a think about what hes doing... you can do it like this...or pull the balance shaft assembly off...with the engine out to line the balance shaft gear mark to the balance shaft idler dots.@@mompatimase167
Sooooo what is the deal with the dot 'supposed' to be between the 2 dots on the crank cog? I have had to cajole one back to time before without removing the sump - its tricky but not impossible.
Ok. Thank you for your repply. The engine is still in the vehicle. With allen key its difficult to get it correct with the balance gear. If you can share dimensions of the pin please. Or if I can buy one from you. I am in East africa, Tanzania
