The Ministry of Roads and Highways through its major agencies: Ghana Highway Authority, Department of Urban Roads and Department of Feeder Road has initiated and is currently embarking upon various works on over HUNDRED THOUSAND (100,000km) of roads and bridges all over the Ghana. This is conformity with the declaration of 2020 as the "YEAR OF ROADS" by the president of the Republic of Ghana Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo.

Thanks for the video. It still appears that a lot of the roads are still very narrow. I don't know if I see it like that. My wish is that these new project will be executed in a way that they are durable to last so that a few years down the line we do not look for money to work on the same road. Road markings are also a major problem in Ghana.

The roads in Ghana are all substandard. Even the current development are too narrow, lacks basic restraints and safety devices for pedestrians. As such, there are excessive speed bumps to reduce speed which make travel uncomfortable, increased travel times and increased vehicle repairs. Why are major roads going through townships with speed bumps? A lot of monkeying around with construction.

Soon the open gutters is going to be fill up with dirt and there comes the mosquitos, that is the smartness of the road minister and some Ghanaians around him.

I won't be suprised if these roads starts getting putholes within a year. And why are open gutters in Towns and cities still a thing?

I agree. I think maybe, as of now, is to lay down as many miles as possible by focusing on getting tarred roads. The quality, covered drains, maintenance issues, etc. comes later. I take a tarred road with uncovered drains over a swamp road any day. We're not going to solve all of our road issues in one swoop.
