She comes out of the sun in a silk dress running like watercolors in the rain. One of the BEST lines ever! Reminds me of my late wife in her sundresses.
Captured word's of true emotion.. Indeed a fantastic song.. With all respect; this is music... I was blessed to hear this when it first came out... still tugs at the heart..
Oh, I've never heard anyone else say that. This song came out when I was 18yo I was singing in a band and we did this song. I don't know why but it touches me to the point of tears. Sometimes it was hard to sing it without the tears falling. Music just does that to me. 🎶 and the sax...chills!
Magnifique chanson !!!😍😻💗 Ça me rappelle quand j'avais 15 ou 16 ans !!! Et en plus les chats sont merveilleux 😻... j'adore les chats 😻 Il devrait vraiment y avoir une année du chat 🐱 ce sont des animaux de compagnie vraiment attachants !!! Merci 😊
You know how I was raised up that song I heard it when it come out and I've been with it all the time and you guys are are all new to this y'all don't know what music was back then that's when music was not today lessen the more I would get your head out of your ass and get out there and listen to it ain't your style Stuart there's others and give them the think they should be given
Lyrics: On a morning from a Bogart movie In a country where they turn back time You go strolling through the crowd like Peter Lorre Contemplating a crime She comes out of the sun in a silk dress running Like a watercolour in the rain Don't bother asking for explanations She'll just tell you that she came In the year of the cat. She doesn't give you time for questions As she locks up your arm in hers And you follow 'till your sense of which direction Completely disappears By the blue tiled walls near the market stalls There's a hidden door she leads you to These days, she says, I feel my life Just like a river running through The year of the cat She looks at you so cooly And her eyes shine like the moon in the sea She comes in incense and patchouli So you take her, to find what's waiting inside The year of the cat. Well morning comes and you're still with her And the bus and the tourists are gone And you've thrown away the choice and lost your ticket So you have to stay on But the drum-beat strains of the night remain In the rhythm of the new-born day You know sometime you're bound to leave her But for now you're going to stay In the year of the cat.
Great song I love your creative take on this video... this is very reminiscent of the fellow who put up those creative videos years ago with Casablanca and several other classic movie clips in black and white on this great song! But I wonder how long it will take those greedy fokes who owns the rights to these movie clips to flag it down?!
Lupe Sanchez I loved that video and still hate that it was taken down. I would post it on my granddaughters page for her birthday until one day it disappeared.
This scene reminds me the big Americas sister assigned to service me .she got me a Trailways bus ticket to Seattle . I hug her and kiss 💋 her face then turn around anf trode of into yhe 🌇🌆 sunset
It's a too obvious distinction associating Casablanca and this song, but for me personally, it's always been about a tourist. The cruise ship he was on, stopped at a small, barely known about island. He took time off from his hectic career and life to come to some place where he wouldn't be followed and bothered. He is met by a beautiful native woman, who instantly seems to recognize his soul. He is instantly attracted to her. The rest , well, you know how it goes! That's how I want to always remember this song. It's how the music and the lyrics make me feel. I can almost visualize by Al Stewarts great story telling lyrics in the song of how it would have been, if it was a real story.
Die Bilder hättest Du schwarz/weiß belassen sollen, es gibt keinen farbigen Film mit Bogart; der Insert mit dem schwarzen Kater ist zu plakativ-dominierend. Viele Grüße, OPB
