“Boomerang” live is a powerful song as well. Not as powerful as this one for me because I really connect with this song, but a great song nonetheless. Her voice reminds me of a mix of Beth Hart with the grit she adds and Adele because she makes it seems so effortless. Just a beautiful voice.
Another really emotional and beautiful live performance of hers is October Sky. Yebba is an exceptionally gifted artist. Her writing skills are so beautiful..
@@Pontus-Osterlin I prefer the acoustic version where she is sitting in a Memphis field. Her mother was a science teacher who sometimes used to bring home bottle rockets that her students made, and set them off for her children to enjoy. She committed suicide in October, and Yebba wrote this song about her.
She writes all of her own work. Her mother had committed suicide not too very long before this and she stopped performing for a bit because the record producers were trying to capitalize on her pain. I am not sure about this fact but I think it was four years until she began to work again.
I would suggest the next song from her to check out is Evergreen, a song for her mother, who unfortunately killed herself about a week after Abbey recorded this song.

@103mrg I believe you’re right. First time reactions to an artist I’ve never heard before is difficult. I guess it’s somewhat like viewing a new TV series, it takes a few episodes until you get to know the characters and then you get emotionally involved.
